Wow, who dredged this topic out of the deeps of FTE
Oh well, I wasnt a member when this was started may as well continue in the fun....
I am a warehouse foreman at a produce warehouse, exciting stuff huh.....
Hey, someone's gotta keep those boxes rollin'...! I'm an "Inventory Control Technician" which loosely translated means "Professional Box Counter/Stacker" at a regional distribution center for a major retail company.
I work for a real estate broker/developer. I don't exactly have a job title, I'm just sort of his main guy to make stuff happen on his projects, right now I'm the foreman on the construction of an industrial park, and we're about to start building an apartment complex. When both of these projects are finished I'll be the manager of them as well as working on any future projects that we come up with. And in my spare time (yeah, right!) I tinker with things automotive, and build and repair stringed instruments. -TD
They call me a computer specialist technician ( yea, right ) did 22 yrs in the navy and looking to get into home inspection and to move to the stick and raise a blue ribbon bull ( bubby will be his name when I get him ) and put him in the stud-ing business.
Rancher who is trying to retire. Guess the only way I can really retire is sell all the land. Problem here is over the years I have built a pretty nice shop/barn. I dont know that I could afford to build another one or where I'd go to build it. Besides its Wyoming, no inspections, 4% sales tax, no interstate, 250,000 acres of BLM in my backyard..... it really does not get any better than this.
I keep Airplanes from becoming WMD's, I am a Federal Air Marshal and Love my Job...
Been donig it since Nov 2001. Before a cop a college student and a Navy man.
proffesional jack of all trades. went to school to be a shop teacher, now i do websites, manage a mobile home park, buy and sell land, maintenance on rentals and equipment, set up log jobs, etc. etc. Shoulda just stuck with the small engine repair- had it goin pretty good but the money (and the company) is better here.
Operator in a power plant. It's kinda cool really.
Other than that in the winter time I am a quail hunting guide, my dad and i raise and breed Brittany's, I work on a few farms at different times of the year,I do alot of pasture mowig for the folks that buy their little 3-5 acre parcels but don't buy a tractor to mow it and I do some small remodel jobs for select folks (more to help friends than anything else).
I have a CS Degree (Common Sense) from UTR (Up Through the Ranks). I have been a graphic designer for 13 years. Somehow, I always manage to get dragged into the support/IT side of things. I have been a Production Manager, an Assistant Systems Administrator and currently a DTi Application Support Analyst - which is a really fancy way of saying that I help people learn how to use publishing software.
If you happen to live in a really kicka$$ state (Colorado, Wyoming, Montana) and you have the need for a ready-to-rock graphic designer with a full understanding of systems and post-script hit me up. I am SOOOOO ready to get out of the desert.
Also, my girlfriend has a finance degree - so if ya'all hear about something let me know!
I absolutely love this site - the people are phenomenal. I have never seen such a wealth of information collected in one place. I would go so far as to say, I don't think you have to worry about homeland security. Just tell the crew at FTE what you want done we can design it, engineer it, build it, package it, ship it, fix it and if necessary help it start breathing again... What a group. We have snipers, medics & cops. Rocket scientists and teachers... There isn't anything this group can't answer. Probably a few things no one wants to touch, though....
