Welcome back Bird. Yea.....I'm nuts. Been up since 0800 Saturday with maybe a couple hours nap time in 10 minute or so intervals. Only 8 1/2 hours left in the night.
I got up at 6:30 Sat. morning, went to work at 11 pm went o church yesterday went out to eat then went home and crashed. Not to rub it in Pep but it was nice. I also did teh first release of some quail yesterday in the process of a quail release of about 30 birds to re-establish a population in an area. I hope it goes well.
As long as I dont sleep thru any calls, or make silly decisions in my hazy lack of sleep, al should go well. Thanks.
I plan on hitting the bed real hard when I get out of here in the morning.
Then right back Monday night.
I'm not into too much hunting, and Dove hunters around here get kinda crazy.....but I think its cool you release quail into the wild to replenish the populations.
I do expect to get razzed pretty hard in the 'Good .22' thread.
Actually pep there are no quail here in this spot where I am releasing them. Often farms will spray everything and it kills the vegetation around tree lines and since most fence rows are pushed out that takes a lot of habitat out and thus no place for quail to live. Add in coyote populations and not many birds survive, SO; I've taken it upon myself to lower the coyote population the last few years in this spot (have I? probably not enough to make a difference but I like to think so), the drainage ditches in this area area all grown enough to provide enough habitat and the woods at this treeline area are mature enough so that there is stable undergrowth and it's up of the ground like quail need it. I looked this area over real well beforehand and I really think these birds will make it, they have plenty enough food and shelter so I really think it will go. The guys who own the farm are as excited about this as I am (that's a big plus) and I have hunted their land for years, also good friends of our family.
[QUOTE=, Isn't Martha Stewart coming to your state for a vacation? [/QUOTE]
I think so, they wouldn't let her have her choice of Florida or near her home or something. It's prison, DUH, do you reallythink you get to choose your room like a freakin hotel or something.
"Yeah I'll take the prison chateau room with the double beds, stainess toilet and matching sink and if you can the three bar doors instead of the four. It looks better when visitors come over."
Give me a break.
Oh yea......the new candy bar testing for this evening. Original Hersheys Kisses, Almond Kisses, Caramel Kisses.
The caramel certainly had me intruiged in the beginning. I love Almonds. As time goes by.....I believe the original Kisses are still the #1 pick of the night.
I'll cast my vote on this high profile government research for the cookies and cream Hershey's kisses. I think that's what they are called.
I'll go check the secret supply of Kisses and see what I have available for testing.
Okay....I checked. I do have the new Dark Chocolate Kisses available.....testing.........mmmmm, they do rival the original. Have that dark chocolate kick to em.
Sorry, no cookies and cream available...but I'll put in a request. Although I did have a small run in with a skunk as I walked outside.....quickest way to the stock pile. Little bugger....he stopped, looked at me with that thoughtful expression skunks get when deciding whether to ruin your day. Off he/she went sparing me the adventure. Didnt seem interested in the Kisses....good thing, I wasnt sharing kisses with a skunk.
Kinda odd......Orville's trail ended.....and you still have to decide. Irony.
Not sure I've heard of the Trails End stuff. Ofcourse I am a freak....stale movie theatre popcorn is my favorite.
Sure is a thin lookin night shift...........I guess Sundays are good for that.
