Oil leak cure

Mine was leaking also, they cured the leak by removing the timing gear cover that is behing the transmission. They resealed it and it has been fine for months now. Before they found this they replaced the rear main seal twice with no luck.

Thanks powerstroke let me know how your DSB goes. The dealer just told me the DSB authorized a buy back on a expedtion because of spots in the paint on the hood I was like are you kidding me.

Choctaw I talked to the dealers out here in CA they just flat out tell me Ford has taken the option away to do buy backs the DSB has to approve it now. The dealership has no control from what several of them have told me.
The way I understand it, there are four main ways to get the trucks replaced. This has not changed since the first time I heard the story last summer. There is no particular order that this must be done.

1. The dealer makes you a deal on his own at his cost to trade your truck in and you pay for the mileage that you used the first truck. Ford not involved.
2. You go through with the DSB. All of the DSBs that we have heard of have been very fair in their rulings, and we are only hearing the truck owner's side of the story.
3. You go through the process to have a Lemon Law hearing. In Texas there are appointed State Judges that decide the case. There is a specific set of circumstances your case must meet to qualify. Also, a specific list of items the owner has to do such as take it to a different dealer to get it repaired.
4. Get a Lawyer and sue the dealer and Ford in State and Federal Court.

From what we can see from a distance and listening and providing moral support to people, every owner we have talked to in the first person, has either had the truck repaired or replaced. There are people(2) who have said that they know someone that has a bad truck that Ford won't fix or replace. We have never had that person show up on the Forum and explain the circumstances.

Well I have a bad truck and the DSB has said they want a FSE to look at it. Well the FSE has had a oppurtunity to see it they didnt have time. I have talked to a Attorney he has told me if I hire him I do have a case and he will get my money back? I dont feel I should have to sue Ford to get my money back they should just do it since my truck falls under California lemon law.

#1 never happened in my case. So #2 is my #1 and I'm working on it before going to the next steps.

Ask the Lawyer if he will do it on a contingency, he gets paid 40% above the replacement value of the truck. That is the true judge of a case. Any lawyer will take a case where you pay him up front. A lawyer will only take a case on a contingency if it's a sure thing.

On a contingency basis, the lawyer has to win to get paid.

Must have had something to do with their legal position. There is a Federal Law that gives you the right to rescind any deal for 3 days.
Did you get another PSD?
