Thanks a bunch. My hearing is abotu 2 weeks away and was just wondering how the whole process works. I did get a call from ford last week telling me where the hearing would be. I thought the DSB done this? The lady asked me if i was still experiencing the prob that was listed on my paper work. I wish you good luck with your DSB case. Will you get a new SD, 6.0? I agree with you in saying that these are awesome trucks!!! I would love mine also if it didn't have so many probs. O well hopefully with the good lords grace my next SD,6.0 wont be problem plagued.
Thanks again,

You will get a FedEx with your complaint stuff inside and what the dealer says go over it good.
My dealer said my truck was out of service for 27 days. I had to show them by fax that the invoice in/out dates totaled 42 days. And yes on the new SD if thay decide in my favor.
so go over it good
good luck.

Okay first things first I understand how cdtrukin feels and powerstrokedieselboy feel Im in the same boat.I bought my truck 1/2/04 it was in the shop first for a idle surge at 967 miles. You can be at a red light and the idle goes from 600 to 1200 and you have to jam the brake or it will take off it has been in the shop like 8 times for that and 4 times for a oil leak twice for a gas guage that doesnt work twice for a leak driver door with wind gusting in. IT has been the shop a total of 10 times with 18 days out of service the last time the truck sat at the dealer for a freakin week and they didnt do (snip). It has been to two different dealerships I have been to the DSB which it should be called something different like Fords nice way of maybe we will see it your way but we wont you better get a attorney. The DSB is a freakin joke everyone there is paid by ford and if you want to get a buy back get a attorney dont even waste your time its a joke. As far as I am concerned this new truck has a been a freakin nightmare I didnt buy it for it to sit at the dealership or to leak like a volkswagon. Then when they say buying a new vehicle should a be a great experince well tell ford motor compnay to step up and make things right and take a truck back when there is something wrong dont make the customer hire a attorney to get there freakin money back. I borught my dad with me to the DSB and he was in aww of what happened there. They basically told me they havent had sufficent time to look at the problem and they wanted a FSE to look at it so i asked what if he looks at it and cant figure it out then they told me to fill out the paper work again and come back give me a break. I just hired a Attorney and went to the Better Business Burea web site for lemon lwas and did it they way I didnt want to because I thought the DSB would see that I have been through enough. Then when i received the DSB paperwork it was all lies even the service manager lied saying thhat I had minor problems and they had been resolved are you kidding me I went to the dealership and spoke to the owner asking him why his employ lied on paper. Never got a answer either. Then in the paperwork they knew I was on vacation so they made up some (snip) about a FSE wanting to look at but I was out of state at the time of the appointment no one ever told me about a appointment. So then 1 week before my DSB the FSE was at the dealership I bought my truck from asked him if he wanted to look at my truck he said he didnt have time he was behind 2 weeks get real. SO now I have a Attorney and the BBB one of them should get my money back since Ford isnt willing to keep a customer happy and since 10 times at a dealership in 5 months isnt a sufficent amount of times according to the DSB. Not to make you upset Powerstroke and cd but the odds of you getting your money back dont look good at all. Just wanted to give you the heads up and I am really thinking twice of not buying another ford again since this was my first 1 and there customer service is pi$$ poor..

First Ford 2004,
you are obviously frustrated. Let me see if I get this straight. I had a little difficulty reading your post.
You had:
1. Surging idle. 8 times
2. Oil leaks 4 times
3. Gas gauge (fuel gauge) 2 times
4. Driver door seal problem. 2 times
Was any of these fixed? You say it was in ten times for 18 days. Then you say how many days it was in for each. I count 16 times.
Did you meet with the service manager? Did you meet with the general manager to discuss what had transpired and what your grievance was and what you wanted? Did you call Ford Customer Assistance? Did you follow the process outlined in your owner manual? Did you maintain documentation? Were you calm, factual and professional in your dealings?
If your approach is anything like the way your post comes across, I can understand the dealer putting you off. Don't get all frustrated and angry with the people you are dealing with. It won't get you anywhere.

first ford,
The DSB process has worked for a lot of folks here. They have denied some claims but they've also accepted many. It sounds like they just asked you to keep working the process, not that you were denied.
Sounds like you did get another bad example of this motor. I wish you well getting what you want. Out of curiosity, do you know the engine build date? It's on a sticker on the rear part of the drivers side valve cover.

Jeb the build date was Aug 15,2003 on the motor. I beleive the DSB is different in different areas. One person at the table sided with me which was a female the other three males said they wanted a FSE to look at it and it hadnt been in sufficent times. Well they have had in the dealership plenty of times why didnt they have one look at it alot sooner. It was at the dealership last time for a week and went untouched.

First Ford,
I fill for you!!! I have been without my rig for over 55 days since last november. So i am right there with you. As for the DSB i will give them this chance to make things right and if they give me hassle, then to a lawyer. I hope i don't have to go this way, because i am just trying to get what i paid alot of money for. A truck with that maybe has some minor / FIXABLE probs. And this seems to be the case with you to.
I hope everything goes well for you in the future. Keep us posted...

CD, I'll agree with you on that. There used to be an airline, Alaska, that used to have their execs eat the airline food for lunch. They had the best food and drinks. But that was back when service was alive in America.
CD that is a big 10 4 to that.
Thanks powerstroke let me know how your DSB goes. The dealer just told me the DSB authorized a buy back on a expedtion because of spots in the paint on the hood I was like are you kidding me.
Choctaw I talked to the dealers out here in CA they just flat out tell me Ford has taken the option away to do buy backs the DSB has to approve it now. The dealership has no control from what several of them have told me.

You know if a ford executive had to go through this. HEADS WOULD ROLL.
