Has anyone been denied DSB buyback? I was told buy my ford dealership that once I fill out DSB papers all work stops, so I couldnt get truck repaired if something goes wrong while waiting on DSB which could take up to 6 months. If ford denies DSB and engine and tranniy goes out anytime after denial I am stuck with $ 40 + K truck this scares me. has anyone else heard this or is this a scare tactic from my dealership because I am loosing faith in this truck with the multiple problems I've had. this is the most loved truck I've owned but I need a dependable/reliable truck that I'm not afraid would leave me and the family stranded if I take a trip. I want the power and diesel but absolutly need dependability
That is interesting! I contacted my dealer yesterday to discuss my options, and nothing was said about that. The dealer actually asked if I wanted to have the truck bought-back. I denied, I told him I would like to wait and see if they can fix mine, (I have lots of $$$ in accessories I would lose). Also, I need the towing capacity of this truck, and I am not sure the 04's are any better yet. I don't need another crap shoot on a new one!
Back to your inquirery, sounds like someone may be trying the scare tactics. Seems like legal liability would be to great, plus it is an admission of problems to deny any remidy. This is just my opinion, I am not a lawyer.
Yes I was denied today so I called my dealer and the DSB and was told that I can have my attorney go futher or reopen the case through the DSB once it happens again. I would need a new repair order for the same problem since the date the DSB denied and I could start over. When I started this and filled out the DSB form till now was 6 weeks. I don't think they can stop any repairs on your truck sounds a little . They based their denial on my statement that the truck was running at the time of the hearing or that I have aftermarket items on the truck that MIGHT be the result of the stalling concern since they tie into the electrical system i.e. electric running boards, Xmonitor, stereo? I know not all those who have the same stalling or dieing problem have done the same aftermarket items that I have. My truck has been in the shop about 40 days in 350, towed three times for about 850 miles and died about 20 times but I guess thats no reason for concern
I keep hearing about some dealers buying back trucks from customers with problems. I asked my dealer about this and they said they were not authorised to do this that it had to go to the DSB and be approved before they could give me a new truck. is the buy back a dealer thing or a ford thing?
This is why I have only added items offered by the dealer. The dealer I bought from also offered to add on performance chips. How can they do that if it voids the warranty?
ford customer service is a complete joke. i have the same problem dwolf has had, been out 44 days out of 350. i hate this truck and now i hate fomoco. i'm gettin a dodge. screw this.

The simpler the writing (posting) of “problem/odometer” reading………….the easier it will be to collate. Do not need many words. I must reduce all the date into a usable format; extra words will take more time to complete.
Just wanted to thank everyone for thier help I called the 1-800-392-ford number and they were much more knowledgable that my dealer and told me that once DSB is filed they (ford) dont stop repairing vehicles under warrenty but, they did say that some ford dealerships would not work on vehicles undergoing DSB (dispute settlement board) and if that was the case then ford couldnt do anything about it. had a friend in our powerstroke club send me a bunch of info on DSB, lemon law, and maggnason moss. law very informative. Once again thanks. Jerry

Are you having any issue with your 2004? Do you feel that the Cummins is a better engine then your 6.0? Just wordering if you statement about reflex your opinion of your Ford truck or want you have read.
no, i like the truck. i think the cummins is a better designed diesel however. i like the simplicity of the 12V and the mileage (22mpg). seems like i am reading more pissin and moaning about the 6.0 psd than people saying they love their 6.0 that's all.........
