@Oregon Kickstart I have never heard of a ball joint falling apart like that. Was the road really rough of something?
That was the weird part. I run 33x12.5R18s and a leveling kit. I have never heard a peep from them and had no weird symptoms or alignment issues. Granted the truck is 25 years old now, so I guess age is a factor, but it gave zero warning! I made a turn on a rural 2 lane asphalt road, and began accelerating. I was going probably 45 or more, then wham! The truck started pulling hard to the left, but I got control and stopped very quickly!
Needless to say, I got the one side fixed except for the body work. The other side needs it done too. I should have parts any day.
Check out the groove in the side tread...

Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 16.6 and clear again this morning. Dogs must have sensed a road trip is in the making for later this morning. They were especially frisky this morning and wanted extra time for exploration and games. Trying to convince them it was too darn cold wasn't working. Their fur coats and tolerance for 16° weather is quite obviously better than mine.
Good morning 90's rig, Jim and...
My back doesn't like working on vehicles anymore.
Yea, my back gets very angry when I do certain activities like working on vehicles or moving 40# bags of pellets around. 5 too many jumps out of airplanes in my younger years or one too many work related motorcycle accidents / ramming's. Whatever the case, 600mg Ibuprofen the VA prescribes is having a hard time dulling it down now. This morning it is complaining mildly. All I did yesterday was brought in 3 bags of pellets from the barn and put side marker poles and snow deflector shield on the snowplow. Nothing big, but...

Thanks for the info, it could have been much worse.

This is why I am a fan of older vehicles, if it were my wife’s 24 bronco it would be down for a week or more waiting for parts. I love working on cars I don’t have to drive daily,
guess I am getting old when auto repairs are my entertainment. Haha
I don't enjoy it as much as I used to. Once I get started I still enjoy doing some mods on my old Bronco. And I still dream about building some sort of Rat Rod, Flat Bed maybe farm Fire Truck type thing with a bunch of left over parts I have laying around. The heart of the dream project will be a Cummins 4BT.

Jim, That's what you need strategically placed Hand Trucks for. We have one in the shop, the pole barn, and the hay barn. Along with Battery operated wheel barrel and a hydraulic lift table.
Good morning/afternoon Oregon and everyone everywhere else. We’re at 36 here at Alpha compound and heavy fog since yesterday. Temp has only come up 5 degrees since 0630 this morning.
Weekly gathering of old fogey LEO’s for coffee and breakfast this morning was great. First one I’ve been to in a year or so. We solved a few of the major problems of the country and the world, but as usual, I’m pretty sure we will once again be ignored.

I have a couple of those hand trucks prepositioned. Been using a wagon from Costco. I have the portable ramp we used for dad’s electric 4 wheel hybrid wheelchair/scooter and can lay it over the porch steps for the wagon. I don’t have an electric wheelbarrow but the next best best thing, loading the dump bed down on the Kawasaki Ridge with pellets. Sometimes I wonder if I wouldn’t be better off working those muscles by carrying the bags.
Our second childhood would be so much more fun if old age didn’t interfere!
Afternoon all. Hope everyone is well. I'm pretty much tired of the fog (inversion). Need to get out of the valley but got things to do...mostly inside. Like a puzzle I'm working on. lol. What I don't get done today, I can do whenever I feel like it.
CT scan had good results so there is that. A few things that were there 5 months ago are actually gone now. Those results were not expected and not usual so lucky me. We are talking about getting to more of a maintenance mode which means less appointment and just immunotherapy at longer intervals. Couple weeks to go and I will be off the job and officially retired. Looks like I'll get to enjoy this retirement thing for a while.
Great news. It took a couple of years for me to get to a 6 month schedule and it was year five and the umpteenth biopsy to get a 1 year maintenance schedule that I’m still on for the most part.
Congrats and may you continue to have fantastic results.
Good evening Ford gang. Spint the last few days working in my shop. Did Brakes a rotors on my Black SHO, replaced a pulley on Diane's Aerostar, just did a water pump on the Aerostar a week ago and then had a bearing in a pulley.
