In terms of freezing temperatures, PEX (cross-linked polyethylene) is generally considered better than copper. PEX pipes are flexible and can expand when water freezes inside them, reducing the risk of bursting. Copper pipes, being rigid, are more prone to bursting when frozen water expands inside.
Fresno is having roller coaster weather. 98 on Saturday, 78 on Sunday, and 71 today. Going back up to 78 by the weekend. To hot days this month and the rest are reasonable, so far.
I am still convinced that our government lies to us. And the grocery store as well.
My grocery receipt says that they gave me $92 off meat. No way can they give you $127 worth of meat for $35. If that's what the store is doing, how are they paying that big 15¢ dividend?

I found a YT video yesterday addressing the gear selector not going out of park. Other than the brake switch it mentions a gear shift solenoid in the steering column. I know the brake lights come on, so it is not that. The only other thing it could be is the solenoid, or the wiring between the two. There is a way to test it which I will try. I have already priced the solenoid at Napa and it is pretty expensive:
I wonder why the two "professional" repair shops never checked this?
I’m hoping this is number three, but not holding my breath. Hadn’t driven the 6.0 for a couple of weeks and went out to pull codes to see why the CEL was on. Opened the door and there was no dome light got the multi meter out and checked both batteries which registered 3.1v.
Put them on the charger and back to 12v and pulled the codes (P0404 & P0405 EGR) and by the time I was finished KOEO the voltage had dropped to 11v.
Took the batteries to the mechanic who installed them and testing proved that they were shot (2% & 4% life).
The good news was that interstate warranties them in full. Now to install them tonight.
That is good news.
I called a different shop today and was quoted $500-550 to replace the solenoid. He could not take my truck until the end of next week, so I made an appointment for the 27th of this month. He told me he wanted to make absolutely sure it was the solenoid before replacing it. I only have $250 to work with, but his website mentions financing. Also, I may try asking the VA for help once I know the final cost. Maybe this will fix both issues, and I will be happy to drive the truck for the first time in months.
The bike came with a Harley charger that plugs into a charger port on the bike. Maybe you can install chargers on the truck. Keep the batteries topped off when you don't drive it.
