I hear yah. We are in the fog this morning, and the OAT is 45.
We had relatives visiting from Minnesota last week, and natch, we did a couple of BBQs with my beloved Weber. My nephew related that he has switched to a pellet BBQ (Louisianna Grill), and likes it because it controls the temperature so well. Plus he can do low and slow when needed. I've had my Weber for at least a decade now, and it's still going strong. The temperature control is tempting though.
I've used different BBQ grill designs over the years. The old fashioned Weber is still one of the best. With enough practice, and a little technique, you can do some amazing work. You can regulate the temp on a Weber with the vent holes. I always wanted the Weber rotisserie attachment. Except that it costs more than the Weber itself.
I am biased towards using wood. I grew up using Lazzari Fuel in Brisbane, CA. There are 2 styles of BBQ which I also like as much as the Weber kettle. Not that they're better. But both have worked for me.
I owned two BBQ's. One of them, my first, was an electric grill I bought around 45 years ago. Loved it. but when I moved, I tossed it (idiot). A year or two ago a neighbor who was moving out of the apartments gave me his BBQ which he got in payment for some work he did. It was a pile of junk that he did not want to take with him. I never used it and eventually had a friend haul it away to the junkyard. The electric one looked similar to this one. I "think" I paid $199 for mine, so this one is a better deal since it has a taller stand. I am surprised it is not a lot more, as I bought mine in the mid 80's Mine did not have the tall stand with the sides. Just a Frisbee looking circle stand under the grease cup.
