When it's normal price, it's about $7 - $9 per pound. I never pay that. It's not worth it to me. The sale price is $1.77. That's why I only buy once a year.

That sale price is a huge difference! I would buy it too at that price if I liked corned beef.

Apparently, giving away items works for O'Reilly. I get these in my e-mail several times a year. I can't predict when, or why. I always manage to find something in the store to buy.

That is cool. I never get coupons from O'Rielly. I guess I have not bought enough stuff from them yet. LOL

I love corned beef. Cabbage not so much.

My favorite breakfast dish is corned beef hash. Big chunks of corned beef mixed with country potatoes, onions, pepper, and topped with a poached egg.

I buy something when there's a coupon. Fuses, funnels. Soda. Hot Wheels toys. Whatever the coupon covers. I add a few dollars. That's the only time I buy from them. For real auto parts, they are way too expensive. If I actually need a radiator, or something like that, there are options. I can call a distributor for better pricing and availability. The same distributor that they buy from, then resell to me

I buy from O'Rielly because they are the closest parts store to me. However, when I do buy another gear selector cable it will be from NAPA. I would buy from RockAuto, but they have several listed and it is hard to tell which one would actually fit. The one O'Rielly sold me was "supposed to fit" but according to the repair shop on the corner it didn't. Which is why there is an issue. They told me to return it and get a different one, but also said they would be charging me for the labor again. I told them to make the current one work. My plan is to buy the cable from NAPA, along with a Motorcraft coil on plug, then take the truck to my trusted mechanic by the underground gardens. In order to do that though, I need to pay down/off a couple of more bills, so I can afford to pay his rates. At least I know the job will be done right, and I will have a paper trail. The last two mechanics wanted cash only and neither of them gave me a written estimate or a receipt for anything.

99¢ £ chicken. Bird flu? Eggs went up. Chicken didn't. I'll be eating chicken this week. Along with the free wild mint that grows alongside the freeway.

Just got a call from Scootaround. They state that the VA has denied the repair request, and to wait for the VA to let me know what the next steps are. Since this isn't my first rodeo, I am going to assume that they will call me to make an appointment to come in and decide which scooter I can choose from. The prosthetics supervisor told me they don't buy the one I have anymore, but I hope that doesn't mean that they don't buy other Pride Mobility scooters as I want to see if they will get the Pursuit 2. Also, I have extra wheels for the Pride scooter, so I would like to buy a Pride scooter. However, I may end up having to choose the Golden brand. I will call and see if I can make an appointment today.

TGIF Nor-Cal. No news to report here in the armpit of California. Still waiting on the VA's next move.

Depends on who you ask. Every time I go to the VA, I see people working. Maybe the ones they asked were in the administrative part of the VA? I received a reply to my question about making an appointment and choosing a scooter. I was told they will just order the same one I had. Interesting, because I distinctly remember the supervisor telling me they don't order that anymore. LOL. So, I'll just have to wait and see I guess. At least the repair guy isn't asking for his loaner back.

We held a Celebration of Life for my dad yesterday. Despite the fact that probably two thirds of his friends already have passed away, there were about 200 folks in attendance. It turned out well.
