Happy Humpeth Day Nor-Cal.
Drove the truck yesterday. Started right up. Took both hands and a lot of grunting to get it out of park and into neutral. Took it to O'Rielly for a scan. tach not working, lights everywhere. Sitting in left turn lane, the tach starts working, lights go out, except for the CE and brake light. They scan the computer. Only thing wrong according to the printout is the number four coil on pack...Start up truck drive the few hundred yards to Walmart to get the rent money order and buy some food. Go out to truck, does not want to start in park or neutral. Eventually, after a bit of tugging and banging it starts. I was going to go to a gas station to get gas but decided to just drive it home in case it did not want to start up again at the gas station. I am at a loss as to why the problem persists. Everything that would prevent it from starting in park or neutral has been replaced. Two different mechanics have worked on it, only for the problem to return a few weeks later. Same with the gear selector problem. Even the death wobble problem. I spend money on parts (tires) and labor on three different problems, and they return a week or two later. This truck is a money pit.

I even had a problem registering it online at the DMV. Tried to use a credit card with a $200 balance to pay a $165 dollar fee, and the DMV tells me the transaction was not successful. I check my balance, yep, $202 available. I call PayPal, "No sir, don't see any recent transactions". They send me to Synchrony Bank, the ones who handle their credit card. Same thing, no transaction. I try to pay the DMV again. Same thing. Less than a minute after the second attempt I get a security fraud text from Synchrony Bank. "Are you trying to pay the California DMV?" I reply "Yes" They say "Okay, it should work now" I go to the DMV website and try again. No luck. Interesting how Synchrony Bank says no transactions, but it can tell me I am trying to pay the DMV. I will try again today, but don't expect it to work. My roommate paid me the money she owed for last month's rent and this month, so I can deposit that in the bank to cover the DMV fee. They have the option of taking it out of my bank account with no fee (they charge $3.16 to use a credit card) so I will try that. Problem is, my scooter is broke, it is forecast to rain all day, and I don't trust my truck. The parts for the scooter have been expedited from Las Vegas and should arrive today, or tomorrow. The repair man has to find the time to come out, pick up the scooter and take it to the shop, repair it, and bring it back. The repairs should take about two hours, and the reason for taking it to the shop is because he has every tool he will need there. I have until the end of the month to pay the registration, so I should be able to get the money in the bank this weekend. God willing.

I don't remember if I mentioned that I joined Walmart + for a month. one of the perks is to get 25% off every purchase at Burger King (well, not every purchase, they do limit it to once a day) However, even that is not working for me. I tried to use it yesterday and was told the restaurant is unavailable. I contacted BK support, and they claim the problem is with my phone. However, I told them that can't be as I have tried using my laptop, my Comcast phone and my government phone, and they all give me the same message. If I did not have any bad luck, I would not have any luck at all.

I checked that base model 2016 F-150 ad and it is still available. It is the cheapest within 100 miles of my zip code and looks to be in great shape. I am kicking myself for damaging my credit to buy that Charger years ago. My credit rating is slowly going up, but nowhere near where it was before getting the Charger.

Open short in the electronic ignition, wondering if something was pinched or spliced during repairs , intermittent power to the starter / solenoid or Electronic ignition system

I was thinking that for the dash lights all coming on, then as I drive it they went out. Maybe a pinched line or loose ground from the last repair on getting it to start in park and neutral.

Jim it sure sounds like it ,
back when my 04 had throttle surge, it was a open short in the icp injector control pressure connector, while the truck was running , I did a wire wiggle pinch test and found it at that connection , you could see between the three wires were white looking , almost like somebody just pulled or stretched the coating without disconnecting the clip, after I replaced the pigtail it never surged again , I had three reputable mechanics try to resolve that issue, my guess was as the wire heated it lost conductivity telling the PCM to default or just surge and make the truck be stupid for layman’s terms , electrical gremlins are hard to pinpoint and almost need to be put on a Mac to read what’s the problems , I understand that would cost money , that’s why I created a pinch wiggle process .

Sounds like a plan. The second mechanic who worked on it is going to come over as soon as the rain stops. I'll mention it to him. Thanks.

Getting an awfully quiet in here , everybody doing good ?
just a lil recap of my week
loss of more hearing , might half to get hearing aids that transfer from right to left OR move my recliner further away from my Wife and Bird and simply adjust volume as necessary (off)
cataract surgery date booked , the 25th of this month , realized I can’t afford bionic eye ultrazoom features with video optics so I’ll choose the Goat lens , hoping but not limited to vertical and not horizontal.
work has been steady slow but crammed packed all in one day , I’ll get the everlasting scroll of my wife’s honey do list completed by 2026 if I don’t keep taking 15 minute breaks, HDHD kicks in while still on the first thing on the list .
im not a plumber, but I keep taking plumbing jobs 🤔 ( quick cash don’t tell the irs).
I know I’ve done something else last week but Mr dementia stopped by and we talked about old times ( all day ).
I forgot what I was really going to say : have a great weekend fellers .

Scooter is being picked up and taken to shop. The repair guy brought a brand-new loaner for me to use in case the repairs take longer than expected. So, I am mobile again!

Nothing exciting around here except for religion and politics. Making use of the tri tip. Tacos. As was pointed out to me. There's always beef around here.

Hanklin cool. Let me know and maybe we can meet somewhere.
I think my scooter and my truck are related somehow. Got a call yesterday from the repair guy and he tells me he found two connectors melted together... Which is the same thing they (different repair shop) found a few months ago. That is why all the wiring, batteries, motors etc. had to be replaced. So, now the scooter is doing what the truck is doing, having the same issues over and over.
The VA changed the way us Veterans get our scooters fixed. The old way was to send them a secure message letting them know what is wrong. Then they send a tech out to assess the problem(s). After that the tech puts in an order for whatever parts are needed and the VA orders them and then we wait two weeks. Now, we don't call the VA. We call a company called Scootaround. They subcontract with three scooter repair companies and send one of them out. My guy, Scott Valentine, owns his own scooter repair company. He is the one who bought a brand-new scooter to use as a loaner. As a matter of fact, he was unboxing it and charging the batteries Friday night when he called me, letting me know the parts came in. He brought the new scooter over yesterday and took mine to the shop. Later that day he informed me of the melted connectors. He left a voicemail as my phone was on mute for some reason. Couldn't figure out why I had not been getting any text messages or calls. Anyway, I will call him tomorrow and find out what to do. I am guessing this means ordering parts and waiting another two weeks for them to arrive. I'm so glad he gave me a loaner to use.
