Jim, It looks like the plow did the job, to bad it sub par. It sounds like when the one you want be comes available, you should buy it and sell the one you got.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 22 and supposed to have a big snow storm headed our way. The S.O. alert was saying up to 26”. When I checked the weather forecasts it appears the 26 is for south of here as well as higher elevations. We’re looking more like 6 to 10 (ish). No new snow overnight here.

The double nut system is what I was thinking and had seen on other plows. To be honest, I goofed up and didn’t notice the R pin style at the dealership. Just saw the feet were on there.
Overall, I’m really starting to think this system was designed with a max 40 to 60 HP (or less) Quad in mind or one of the smaller Ranger or Moto types. They had to custom manufacture the mounts for the bigger Kawasaki.

Jim - If the original system you were looking at was hydraulic for that plow, I'm not sure I would have settled for that make shift thing given what you need to do. On a side note, that's the best use of golden fire pellets I've ever seen.
The hydraulics were for tilt. It was still winch up and down. The pictures looked like it was heavier duty though. They had all of the pieces except for the blade. Kawasaki’s mount system was just enough different that no one else’s blades could be mounted.
But, you are absolutely correct on settling for the substitute. Other than having to get out to adjust the angle, I didn’t realize how much difference in actual use there would be.
However, I was getting jammed up on the snow and ice and I wasn’t having any luck getting anyone to come this far out of La Pine. Cars haven’t been out of the Pole Barn since December 16th.
I checked with several other dealerships and they couldn’t get the Kawasaki blades either. And, there was no information on how long they would be out with two dealers speculating that it would be late summer or early fall. I did find two post market suppliers advertising and gave that info to Powers. I’m not so sure they followed up on that though.
I do think part of my dealership conversation will be to get that Kawasaki system put on at some point. This is the Kawasaki hydraulic mount. They do have the manual A frame mount as well. But, it’s worthless without the blade. This is the Warn System that doesn’t look much different from others I’ve seen. Looks strong, but being pushed by a bigger 116 HP machine, apparently not strong enough?
That Kawasaki unit does look a lot stronger, and the hydraulic angle unit would be really nice. This unit should get you through the rest of this winter, I would hope.
Yeah, the hydraulics is a must have. With what you have, being able to go from one side to another or to be able to straighten out the blade to carry material and the go is huge. Can't believe they couldn't get one. I don't think they tried very hard.
Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else.
Snow storm in full force. 6 or 7 inches and no signs of slowing down.
After some further problems today, I read up on Warns plow systems at their web site. I talked to Powers Motorsports this afternoon about this snow plow. Not a happy camper. It appears the angle adjustment plate plate is bent and won’t lock in. Kept getting worse and worse until the pin now won’t hold at all. Something isn’t right with the push tubes they have on it. Max angle left or right puts the blade in contact with the tire on the respective side.
They said the mount was custom built. They had to send them measurements and specs. Yet Warn has a specific mounting system listed for the 2024 Ridge. Something isn’t adding up.
I have to call their Service Manager in the morning.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 22 and plenty of snow. Supposed to get more throughout the rest of the week. Severe Winter Weather Warning is on thru 1000 tomorrow morning. I have to take off later this morning and get to McMinnville and Sheridan.
