Well I set my truck up for AGM battery 700 CCA and also changed charge to 90%. Now have to order the batteries. NO Walmart stores in my area stock the Group 65 AGMs.
Order them for pickup, unless your batteries are dead in the water at this moment.

Why did you choose 90% and what was it before you changed it?
The truck is my daily driver and is 3 years old 12k. The reason I am replacing them is that they are sulfating to the point that the hold down brackets are showing rust spots and it isn’t holding voltage like it used to. It also is constantly going into sleep mode.
No trouble starting yet but I hunt and don’t want to be stuck anywhere so I am being proactive. I sure wish these trucks had a voltmeter from the factory. Something I will remedy in the near future.
Bob
No kidding, seems crazy the voltmeter is missing when they do include quite a few other things.
Fascinating discussion here about charging profile, because I'm going to upgrade to an AGM when my flooded dies and haven't had any need for ForScan yet. Went to the web site for download and it says you can't buy it at the moment, payment methods to Russian companies just got turned off?!?

I ended up ordering the Everstart from Walmart. I have always bought Interstate but their batteries have the same ratings, are $75.00 more each, and have a shorter warranty. We will see how they perform over time.
Instead, I went with the O’Reilly brand, they have a 3 year warranty, and like Walmart, they’re everywhere!
I wish!
We have about 5 Walmarts within a 50 mile radius and maybe ~20 auto parts stores (Advance Auto Parts, NAPA, etc.). Unfortunately the closest O'Reilly is more than 80 miles away.

I am -and have been- switching all my batteries to Walmart AGMs and have nothing but positive experiences so far.
Use them for stationary solar fence charging systems, cars, the F250, and tractors. BTW, not sure if it makes a difference, but if you want it shipped to your home/business, look for the word "BOXED" in the AGM battery's description as that adds good Styrofoam-lined packaging to the order.

Thanks,

Like I said, it was set to 80% by default. Not sure why they program it to give up 20% of the capacity. I changed to 90% so that it would be better than stock, but not to the point of overcharging the new batts.

It isn't leaving 20%. The BULK charge rate stops at 80% and then it float charges above that. It will input the maximum volts to 80% then it steps down to a lower voltage input to "float charge" or to keep the battery topped off.
The FLA bulk charge rate being set to 120% means it would never stop giving 14.7v or whatever the bulk charge rate is until the battery was 120% SOC essentially overcharging the batteries forever and killing them prematurely.

I have to ask: was that an error or oversight, or was there some legitimate reason for Ford to set that as the default?
Just picked up two Odyssey Extreme ODX AGM65's for my Tremor. Napa had a 20% off sale, but said they couldn't get the batteries. Summit Racing price matched the sale price.
THere's actually a Batteries+ near me and I am thinking about going with the X2's... but I do like the idea of Walmarts, Auto Zone, etc... being everywhere...
