Leaking coolant again :(
I upgraded to a newer model intake without the bridge. What a difference it makes for doing repairs. Don't have to pull the turbo to remove the intake. Don't have to pull the intake to get to the HPOP. Easier access to the IPR. No downsides whatsoever.
Glad something went easily for you.

One of my biggest 6.0 regrets is I didn't get an original Odawg SR3 from before the EPA starting cracking down. If anyone has one laying around....................
Did you cut the tab off of your newer intake? It would still get hung up in the pedestal for me, but maybe I didn't move it around enough.

I wish I had gotten the SR3 too. They were $800 nine years ago. Might get lucky and find one in a junkyard as more trucks wind-up there.
Removing the intake had been discussed (post 57) when I made my post, and my later post was only answering your post about not seeing an issue with being able to remove an '03 intake without removing the turbo. I already posted that I thought that he had an '03 intake and posted my apology since being reminded that he had no need with his '03 TRUCK and the 06 engine. Your post about seeing "no need to remove the turbo on an '03" continued the discussion, as the last one has done. Sometimes threads take diversions on discussion forums, it happens. Shouldn't be any big deal.
I agree with @texastech_diesel recent post also - even though it was also a "diversion". It is all learning and sharing. If nothing else it helps future readers.
With the intake removed, cutting the tab (EGR cooler tab as previously posted) is easy if so desired. It probably can be a bit of a help in future work.

First off, the stator bolts are 15mm and there are 5 of them on my 03. The newer models only have 4. The intake manifold bolts are 8 or 10mm. Alternator bolts are 13mm. CAC tube clamps are 11mm. Fuel line mounting bolt is a 10mm. Rigid heater line bolt is 8mm. So you need 8, 10, 11, 13, 15.
If you're not removing the manifold, you only need to be able to lift it about 1/8" at the front, and:
1, No need to remove turbo even on an 03 that I can see.

Where abouts you located?
Next year between November-April I'll be rv living down south somewhere warm with a bumper pull and my truck camper and would be super cool to visit with some of you fellas and explore the different states you reside in 🙂

My post #65 was made after the OP decided NOT to remove the intake. You obviously misread my post, Marc (and possibly his), and in the process confused the OP. So I don't see how that's beneficial for him or future readers, regardless of how anyone feels about "diversions".
As was posted above, there may be a benefit even for him if decisions change, as they sometimes do.
I'll pencil you in for next year's late fall-winter-early spring season.
Still waiting to hear what information I posted that was incorrect, and/or what it was that you claim to know that I did not understand.
Doesn't show on mobile and Texas is definitely where my brother wants to go so most likely that will be our home base for next winter. He's going to stay put in the bumper pull with 3 of our cats and I'm going to wander a bit with my truck camper and cat #4 lol.
Btw this is cat #4 who is my baby boy and on me 24/7 lol.
Looks a lot like my Fuzzpuss Hambone, before he got eaten by a hawk that is. Best cat ever!
There are several RV parks around Fort Worth. Not sure what you're willing to pay for the site. There are a couple out where we are. I know a guy who parked his RV bus at one near by for a few months but got tired of paying so he moved it to his daughter's driveway. He had a lot of trouble finding a place that would let him park because his bus is old and not in the best condition, and they're apparently picky about appearances.

I called a couple diesel shops today and the lowest quote I got to replace the intake O ring was 8 hours/$1350 so I'm going to figure out a way to build some kind of shelter over the engine bay then heat it with a cheapo industrial propane or diesel heater and get it done on one of the warmer weekends that in the forecast.
Pretty cheap option here, if you have a 20% off coupon:
