Backyard mowed still have another acre or so to do with the tractor but I may put that off.
Yes, when I start to look at having to get a new impellor if I change engines, I just added another 15-20% to the cost. I'll make some calls on Monday and see if I have enough connections to scare up a used ECM. Otherwise I'll sell an appendage to get what I need from a 3rd party that can make what I need.
Eagle Crest is great home base for doing hikes in that area, spent a week last fall there. Did Misery Trail (over smith rock) and 11 other hikes. Fun area.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. We're up to 31 and its Snowing! Yeah, not a typo.
Problems with the RV shop again. Had stretch and tearing problems on the dining room slide topper caused by wind and heavy snow sitting on it for several days on several camping trips. I had bought the parts from Highway and was going to do the job myself. Then this surgery came up and being grounded for 6 weeks. With a camping / boating trip planned and then the G2G in Condon immediately after that, I wouldn't have time to fix the slide topper, and wind was doing a number, and then, to add insult to injury, I hurt it a little. When I swapped the bays that I was keeping the boat and camper in, I didn't realize how much unevenness there was on the floor of the pole barn. Appears to be about a 3+ inch drop from one side to the other. Anyway, I was backing the camper into the bay where the boat had been and while I had nearly a foot of clearance in my rearview mirror on the sides, I didn't at the very top where the slide topper is. Popped an end cap off the torsion spring housing. Decided I'd just replace the entire assembly since the canvas was bad anyway.
Anyway, set up an appointment to take it in on the 18th at 0900 for a quoted 3.5 hour job. That way I could get it done and get it home before I went into Surgery on the 19th. Well, they didn't get it done. Last Thursday (end of day 8) as I was getting out of the marathon post op day, I got a text, the short version of which said they hadn't even started it yet. 64 shop hours to do a 3.5 hour job and they hadn't even started yet. So, here we sit waiting on day 12. I'll have to have my son pick it up for me if it is done before Friday.
You guys could hike into the Diamond Peak Wilderness from Odell Lake. A couple of lakes not too many miles up the trail are pretty good fishing after the ice melts. It would be a lot of fun in this snow.

Next week I'm hiking the Columbia river gorge all week. Going to try and hit all the waterfalls, have 32 I plan on doing.
Wow, that's pretty ambitious. To be honest, I haven't been up Pacific Crest area of or/to Diamond Peak since our horses went away. Back in the day we did a couple of SAR's on the Douglas County side of the ridge and further south towards Cinnamen Butte and Thielsen.
Last trip in the gorge hiking beyond the parking area of a rest stop to the restroom was Multnomah Falls and Oneonta Gorge. Wife can't hike far at all anymore so I've kind of quit, other than hunting. We'll try to do the trail from Cottonwood Canyon down towards the pinnacles on the John Day the first of June, but last year, she could only make a mile and a half or 2 miles out before we had to turn around and start back.
Jim, my wife is slowing down faster than me. We did Silver Falls loop two weeks ago and I thought I was going to have to drag her out about half way. But I slowed down and she was able to make it. Just going to be me next week. Hoping to loose some weight doing all the hikes and get in better shape for the summer. I have another 15 month before I get the "re" in front of my tired!

Pretty sure we’re done with those trails, especially since her last open heart. She made it up the 1/4 mile to the North, but when we went down stream, she played out and we had to cut short and take Winter Falls Trail up out of the canyon. Took me two hours to get her out of the canyon from the bottom to top of Winter Falls.. Then left her at the top and hiked back along the rim to get the pickup a go fetch her.
Next day I did the South Falls Loop while she sat on my cousins memorial bench, (Joe Stewart) at the top of the trail and waited.
We usually like to make a camping trip to Silver Falls in March / April and again in August. Didn’t make the spring trip this year due to my surgery.
