Works like a new one again.
I was blasting a vise I snagged last week at an estate sale. Have it totally apart. Painted the cast iron pieces. I'll let them dry for several days and reassemble. This is the 5th one I've done. Each daughter got one and this is the 2nd one for actual use in my shop. One is for display only in my shop.
Mowed earlier.
... i'll give it a minute to cool off some then check the freezer hopefully it didnt all thaw out.. may have to do alot of cooking tomorrow then re-freeze what i can..
... i'll give it a minute to cool off some then check the freezer hopefully it didnt all thaw out.. may have to do alot of cooking tomorrow then re-freeze what i can..There was a chance to get some rain this morning but nothing. Now we're supposed to get rain tonight, maybe even a storm.

I'm tossed between working on one of the trucks or going fishing in the pond out back. My grand nephews tried to fish while they were here but didn't even get a bite. While mowing yesterday I saw all sorts of Bluegill and Bass??? They didn't have live bait so maybe that was the problem.
I got a lot of cutting, grinding and welding done yesterday. I need to do a little metal bending today so I can form the main frame of another jack. I dropped the pick up off at a local shop for a trans service. I'd do it myself, but Ford stopped putting dipsticks in transmissions in 2008. ....and of course I have a 2009. Anyway, I have to put an order in for rod ends for the 4 link bars on Magni 'Tude. That smarts a little. They're a little over $100 each for the rod end, jam nut and tube adapter. ....and I need 20 of them to build the bars and have a few for spares. Anyway, I guess I better get after it.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
It was an eventful day, but not a very pleasant one. Now I know how RC feels when he says he's done working on cars but still ends up doing it. I dropped off the '09 F-150 for a trans service. I would've done it myself, but Ford stopped putting dipsticks in automatics, so I just paid a friend of mine to do it. He and I used to do rebuilders for a local car lot back in the day. He would make them run and I'd make them pretty. What a huge difference. It feels like a new one again. I got some tubing bent, but it got HOT, FAST in the shop cutting, grinding and welding. To end the day, my daughter took her car with a bad starter to her friends house knowing it probably wouldn't start again. Well, it didn't. So I swapped out the starter in her friend's driveway. It wouldn't have been a big deal, but you have to remove the intake manifold to get the starter out. .....engineers suck. Tiff made it up to me by taking me out to dinner.
We got a pretty good storm around 4AM this morning. Dog really didn't like all the thunder and lightning. We ended up getting about 1" of rain and I had to play where'd ya go with a couple of things that blew away from their normal locations. Only one thing ended up in the pond but the ole gaff on a rope made quick work of the rescue. It blew so hard it pushed open the dog door and there was a small puddle on the floor.
My daughter wants me to look at a 94 Mustang GT for her son (he's 17) today. I keep telling her she needs to get him an ole Crown Vic but she won't hear of it. Wanna take bets how long it'll be before it's wrecked?
Think I might get a little truck time in today. And maybe I'll even cook up some ribs.
alan i have read a few things about starter's being in places that really turn changing them into 'big' jobs.. glad your trans issue is fixed..
.. i am thinking of getting my transmission fluid flushed and changed.. but dont know anyone around here that can do it.. bj rain coming in the dog-door sounds worse than muddy paw tracks..
the rest of ya;ll stay dry and have a great day

They have a dipstick it’s just located under the vehicle. If you take off that little metal cap on the side of the trans there is a plastic dipstick underneath it. I used to mess with a bunch of the early ones for the bulkhead connector seal leaking fluid. Once they revised that seal though that leak went away and those 6r80s were a dang stout trans!
My last dealings with mechanical fuel pumps was about 20 years ago replacing lifetime warranty ones about every other month on a small block Chevy.
If I need to get online and shell out the money for a Holley or Edelbrock I will but from what I’ve read online they’re not always reliable either. Also not sure about the integrity of the diaphragms if I try a new old stock part.
Opened up my silver truck door to see a black snake skin shed hanging out the floor air directional vent. So it looks like I need to drag it out of the carport AND SET IT ON FIRE! Also smells like he might of got stuck in there some where and died....great...nothing worse than stinky truck.
Then it got hot and I got all side tracked on my project list. At least I did get to mow yesterday, and today I had a great catch up conservation with Chris (fordrealdrive), he is up near KC holding down the Ford truck fort up that way.
Tomorrow is....well just tomorrow. Ya'll stay cool, outa trouble and remember them outside pets.
PS I am down on my main lap top until Monday, so I am on the old lap brick, hacking away. So my FTEing might be hit and miss.
