Still crazy here at the Mayberry hacienda. SIL's boat took up most of my day 10-6. Even roped RC into several phone training sessions on Rochester Carbs. Thought we had it but the SIL wanted to try one more thing that cost us 4 hours and finally the complete removal of the carb so RC can fix it when he gets up here in a week or so.
Since my day was shot yesterday I got up this morning, walked the dog and started mowing. I was surprised even with the grass being wet the ole Zero Turn showed me mercy and plowed thru the grass and even a few mushy spots. I think it's supposed to rain this afternoon so I wanted to get the 8"-10" grass cut before more rain enticed it to grow to knee high.
We're going over to my daughters for early supper but I'm shot. I hope we're not staying late.
Gayle and I spent yesterday morning checking out yard sales along Rt. 66. Lots of sales, but not much we really needed. After that we spent most of the afternoon working on refinancing the house so we can get some work done on it. We started with our credit union, but we're ending that process with them tomorrow morning. Too many unnecessary delays and lack of communication soured us on the deal. Now we're back to waiting to see what plan B holds. There are times that adulting really stinks.
I spent today re-doing the brakes on the Escape and fixing a front turn signal indicator. I did rotors and pads on it last weekend, but the pads that were supposedly OEM spec turned the wheels black with brake dust by the end of the week. All the normal causes for excessive brake dust checked out ok so I went digging on the internet. Turns out the pads I got from NAPA have numerous complaints about excessive brake dust that magically goes away when they changed to a different brand. There's nothing like redoing a job you just did...
Next weekend I will likely be changing the oil on the Escape and working in the yard if it isn't too ugly outside.

I'm playing the remodel card pretty hard so I don't get rid of any toys
I didn't get anything done in the shop yesterday, but Tiff got another 36 pints of green beans canned and we both got a BUNCH of house cleaning done. Today I need to get started on fixing EQ so he's ready to perform again. A friend of ours was in a wreck last night. Allen Pezo with the Predator and Prowler monster trucks laid his semi over on the way back from a show. It was raining and traffic had stopped on the blind side of a hill and by the time Allen saw it, it was too late. He put it in the ditch to avoid hitting the cars and the embankment slow rolled the semi on to it's side. As of last night, he couldn't tell what the damage was in the dark, so he's gonna go back today and see what's what. Nobody was hurt, though. I told him if he needed a hand wrenching for a few days, I'd come down and help.

This company thing is leaving me not knowing whether to spit quick or puke. I can't tell ya what day it is or even if I ate breakfast or not. It must be I'm old and set in my ways.

Rich you peeked my interest on the two confirmed kills by B52s in Vietnam because my Dad was a B52 tail gunner. He flew outta Guam not Thailand though. I looked it up and according to the Air Force there WERE only 2, even though 15 B52s were lost in the war, 6 in one day. I was dumbfounded that in Afghanistan B52s (BUFF) ***Big Ugly Fat Fellas*** were flying close air support missions. Talk about having to clean your draws after one of those Bad Boys came in low and slow on your AO.
Alan, this rain has lit a fire under the grass. I mowed day before yesterday and it looks like I could already mow again. I cut all my fence lines back in late Spring and so far nothing's grabbed me yet. I do have another couple of branches that need trimming. If my headache bar on the Zero Turn hits them chiggers rain down on me and ya know how that goes.

Joe & Dave 2 a while back someone said something about me buying some 59-60 parts but I couldn't understand the comment. I'd like to find a couple front fenders and a different bed, it's a long bed. It seems like the comment was made about the time Dave2 was saying the fuel pump search was a bust.
I was close. Another 6 truck loads of brush is on the burn pile. Just tree trimmings are now 15' tall. Sheesh.
RC stopped by with John today and we had a little visit before they went on their way. Good to see ya' again, RC.
