Well, I thought I had all my tire wearing issues fixed. After ball joints, fixing the tie rod, and having a full front end alignment done it definitely made my tire wearing issue a lot less but, I am still wearing the outer side of my driver side tire. This will be the third set of tires in 3 months. When I hit that big pothole on the interstate, could have bent my leaf spring? Would that even cause my tire to wear weird? The alignment shop said everything looked good. I am so tired of wearing tires out. I guess you could say I'm so tired of all of my tires getting tired. Yeah, I used tire three times in that sentence and as far as I know it was a proper sentence.
I know you're tired, but consider posting pics of the tired tires you've tried or retired, while letting us know if the tires are retreads or a lower tier tire.

I do not have a picture of the tire that is already worn but, they are very high quality tires. They run about $460 a piece. Toyo open country mud tires. I didn't want mud tires but I got a really good deal on them and they had almost all of their tread. If I remember, I will take a picture of the wearing tire tomorrow. I'm definitely going back to fairhope tire to have them take another look at the truck. They said everything was fine after they did an alignment but obviously it is not. I don't have a picture of what they look like but, the tires were almost new and have a ton of tread. Except for the tire that is still wearing, that one is getting a bit rough looking on the edges. I'm definitely going to go have a chat at the tire shop after I paid them all that money to make sure my tires weren't wearing crooked anymore and I just about ruined another tire.
When was the last time you rechecked the torque on the u bolt's? When I replaced my rear springs, the first time, I had to reuse the factory u bolts for about 2 weeks while I sourced proper sized replacements. I think I had to retorque them at least twice maybe more because they kept backing off. Even blue thread locker wouldn't keep them tight. Just a thought.

I went back to the tire shop today and told them that after their alignment I was still wearing tires. I also had a talk with him about payment. I did not have to pay them this time which in my opinion I shouldn't have had to so that worked out. Considering my alignment was less than a month ago and it already damaged my $460 a piece tires, I didn't feel obligated to pay them for another alignment. It worked out. I know I didn't pay that much for the tires but that's how much they retail for and I wasn't going to tell them I got the tires cheap, anywho they said my alignment was off again. They said they won't do any more warranty work on my truck either because it's altered. I assume that means the lift kit. I'm going to swap one of my meaty back tires to the front and see how the wear goes this time.
Yeah from what I've read and been told wheel alignment only gets out of spec went parts get damaged or fail. So either they missed something or they missed tightening something the first time.
They said they won't do any more warranty work on my truck either because it's altered. I assume that means the lift kit.

The seventh digit in the VIN codes 2WD or 4WD (in Ford VINs, the 4WD coding may change depending on weight class, but all the codes are automatically known by all alignment machine software).
Ask not whether your truck is altered... Ask instead how is your truck is not altered.

Just for the record, those are not the rims I have on my truck at the moment. I'm probably going to put them back on though because the ones I have on now are rubbing the leaf springs and it's driving me nuts. But I'm going to wear the tires out first. I think I'm going to go back with my original plan of getting 315/75/r16 on those 16-in rims. Hopefully those won't rub.
Here are the ones I have on now. They are 20 inch rims and as mentioned by a couple of nice people on these forums, tires are more expensive for 20-in rims. I mentioned it in a forum I think but, I got a steal of a deal on the set. They came off of a Ford f250-350 from 2012 to 2016. Had almost new tires on as well. As my mom says, "it's like a sore peter, you just can't beat it. "

I have no clue. Here's a picture of the new papers. The only thing they could tell me was it was because of the bigger tires after the alignment was done with small tires. I don't know if there's any truth to that or not. Sounds like crap to me but I could be wrong.
Yes but I was hoping your machine would tell me if I had been axle, Bentl leaf spring or whatnot causing my tire to wear unevenly even after an alignment. But this is the second time in a row they said there was nothing wrong with the front of my truck.

So to this point, are there different setting values between a 2wd and 4wd truck? Is it possible the “in spec” camber is actually out for a 4wd?

IMHO it was time for a visit to the “experts.” The original alignment shop visit found toe way out and corrected. The plan was for them to also find any other issues with the front end of the truck. Which they seem to have missed in my opinion.
My feeling is there is something wrong they are overlooking. The toe should not change so much in a few weeks. What is letting it move around?

I just got done putting ball joints. Maybe 4 months ago I did all new axle hub seals and put good hubs on.

I do not know. I was not allowed to be there. At this point I almost want to take it to a frame shop and have them put it on one of their machines. I don't think I have bent frame. I think it's more likely to have a bent axle tube from the previous wreck that the axle was in before I got it. That wreck been the frame and totaled the truck. It could be a leaf spring. There's a whole bunch of things that could be. I will go and retorque my u-bolts this morning while I'm rotating my tires.
