After I had the bed on and off many times I took the tank back out of where I had it likes yours and mounted it just under the frame for if I ever need to take it back out.
Thank you. My tank butts up to the underside of the frame rail, held up with the belly straps. I usually drop the tank if I need to remove the bed bolts. The brackets for the rear bumper are a tight fit too.
I dropped the driveshaft off this morning to be shortened and a 1310 yoke put on it.
I am waiting for the machine shop to brake some metal for the transmission crossmember. After that I can reinstall the exhaust pipes and sheetmetal.
While waiting for my metal to be cut for the crossmember I have been chasing and ordering fittings to complete my brake and fuel lines. I made a decision to use AN and braided flex for both fuel and brakes but have had some delivery challenges. I will shift gears and finish plumbing this weekend.
i welded up my transmission crossmember today so tomorrow I will install the driveshaft.
Today I did a bunch of measuring for the exhaust connections. While I am waiting on exhaust fittings I installed the radiator, and bent up the coolant lines.
Slow progress but forward movement.
I also blew down and pressure tested my fuel lines.
Today I dismantled the front clip. It has been sitting under a tarp on my driveway for 5 weeks. I have one area that I need to address some bubbling paint on the driver side lower fender. Might as well tackle it now and the assembly will be easier for one set of hands.
The grill top and bottom got painted body colour 15 years ago. Rattle can black now.
I need to concentrate on reassembly, to put some miles on, and look at repairs over the Winter.
Wow!
You've made an amazing amount of progress! Everything is looking great
Bobby, I need to learn to leave things as they are and just get it assembled. I am working on the exhaust piping right now, then I get distracted and sand and prime a running board. Maybe I fire it off by end of July, fingers crossed.

Getting closer to taking the truck for a cruise. I have been finishing off plumbing, and exhaust system. Once I have brakes I will put sheetmetal back on.
I'm still impressed with the progress. I'm virtually stalled on everything of mine. I did manage to touch my roadster project a couple of weeks ago........I turned it around in the garage. My 49 is in the driveway with a busted exhaust hanger. I have the hanger, but no time to put it on. I did manage a day to play cars a few weeks ago. But, did I spend it in the garage? Nope, I went out and bought another truck.....LOL.
I stumbled on a good deal on a 1962 Studebaker Champ. 1/2 ton, long wide bed, 5spd manual. I haven't got the truck home yet. Hopefully in a week or so.
Life has just been super crazy for me. House chores (at my house, at my dad's house, at my father-in-law's house, at the ranch, at mom-in-law's house, etc) seem to be taking all my time this year.

Thanks Bobby,, progress is slower than I'd prefer. I am finding and fixing leaks in the brake plumbing and still getting the cross pipe in the exhaust to fit. The passenger side muffler interferes with the driveshaft. I hope to drive it before Winter.
Can a man ever have too many projects? Not if he has at least one of them running and driving.
Well I am close to doing enough mechanical work to where I think I can install front clip and box. I am in the process of bleeding the brakes. I gravity bled them to find the initial leaks, I strongly dislike brake fluid. If brakes hold then I will install all the sheetmetal, after I fix missing paint. I masked off the areas at the bleeder screws, but brake fluid is mean and nasty.
There may be a test drive in the near future.
