My truck has been in transit for almost 2 months!
Ordered 8/1
Received order confirmation 8/3
Built on 10/19
Shipped on 10/20 with an estimated ETA of 11/2 to 11/9
Received at Norfolk Southern railway 10/20
Shipped via Norfolk Southern 11/19 Passing (Norfolk Southern Corp ) Sprstscan, GA 11/21
Still shows the same thing today 12/7
It sat in a railyard for a month and now it is sitting on a track in Georgia for the past 3 weeks.
It still has to make it to a railyard in New Orleans then get on a truck to my dealer 3 hours away.
Dealer says it is out of their hands, there is no one they can call, nothing they can do.
I only thought the wait while it was being processed and built was a long time! Frustrated to say the least at this point.
Our Mach E has been sitting in the rail yard in MO for over a month. It too is being transported by Norfork Southern.
My Super Duty was Shipped by CSX and delivered from KTP to Orlando in 5 days.
Norfork Southern sure seems to be having a lot more issues than CSX. Our car's ETA was 11/26. I just can't understand how Ford allows this.
My build week also starts today. From what I've seen others post it could be 7-8 days from the date at the very bottom of the window sticker. 12/4 in my case. But the other date that has been mentioned as the invoice date on the sticker is 12/3. So it looks like we should have something rolling down the assembly line soon.
I never did get an email to tell me it had moved from order confirmed to in production. Found that on my own by checking the tracker every day.
I just had dealer pull the VVR for my truck. My truck is scheduled to be built on Sunday the 12th. As your was sent to plant same time as mine, you probably have Sunday as build day too.
From Blue Oval forums 21 hours ago in case anyone has ordered or will be ordering any of the affected options:
Any idea on how long of a setback that will be on a truck I just ordered last night? It’s a lariat ultimate Dually with the 5th wheel prep and spray in bed liner.

Thanks for the update. I haven’t contacted the dealer at all during the process. Once I got a window sticker that gave enough assurance that it’s in the pipeline.

I don’t think anyone can give you an idea of that. At least not an accurate idea. All depends on the ebb and flow of your particular commodities.
I'm not sure how Ford can allow this either, if they are even aware or if they care. At this point, I wish I would have flown to Kentucky to pick my truck up. I would have been back in Washington many moons ago.

I really think this is a sign of the "old times". Ford built vehicles for dealers to stock and sell. They weren't customer driven. Times rapidly changed due to all the current events and now they ... HOPEFULLY... realize they need to adapt. They need to make the buying experience better for customers. Think of the money you pay to line the pockets of your dealers. Everything from PDI to floor space. Wouldn't you rather just NOT pay that money? You decided what you wanted. You ordered it. You tracked it. You should get that cut... amIright?

... or do I owe them an apology?
No! No apologies for Ford, haha! Yes, I agree wholeheartedly, the customer experience should be extensively improved. I wouldn't mind a little discount for all my troubles, but in the end - they need to make money. And like you said, times have changed, hopefully come my next truck, the customer experience and transit process improves...or I'll definitely be flying to Kentucky to take delivery of my vehicle.

If taking delivery at the plant was an option, buyers would beat a path to the door. Where do you see that delivery can be made at the factory?
