i think the biggest difference between ours ( your thread is the one that inspired this part) is that i used the original cross members for a flair side bed. And as i read it you used the cross members from a fleet side bed and modified those( grafted what you needed.)
i didn't think about the wood thickness until later and it was like WTH. that ain't right lol
Yes I used the cross members that came with the style side floor.
Because the floor was a long bed I had to cut it shorter and move only the vary front member to line up with the holes in the frame..
Other wise e I just cut the sides off and used it as was.
Hard to believe that it has been this long since I have been back to driving the truck, We have done 3 power tours and getting ready for a 4th power tour in this truck.
We have made changes along the way. Right now we are working on getting a oem hood and fender ready for paint that we have collected over the last year. And a different seat of seats,
The seat we have now is a bench seat from a '93 f150 while it is a pretty nice seat. It all moves together, so we are putting in a set of 40/20/40 seats. We need the seats to adjust independently because I am 6'2" and my wife is 5'2". When she can reach the pedals my knees are hitting the glove box.
In the process of getting the seats and getting them ready to go in we have discovered that the lids(door) for the center console is very hard to come by. As near as I can tell theses are NLA and if you find one in a junk yard it is broken. So here is our first attempt at a solution. I had one with all the pieces in another truck. The inner piece was not broken so we used some jb plastic weld and glued the pieces together. And then we used super glue and baking soda on the outside of the cover so that we had a surface that could be sanded smooth for covering. Cover laying in place before sanding This is the center console we are using Top of cover after mostly sanded Bottom of lid after gluing together
