I'm so proud of my old Explorer! Earlier this year I turned over 300,000 miles. It now has 310,000 and keeps on going. I plan to take a trip this year of about 2500 miles and I have no doubt it will make it with ease. How many miles you got on yours?
Oh, come on, that's just the equivalent of what, six trips around the world? And if you were driving to the moon and back, you wouldn't even be all the way back yet!
But seriously, congratulations!
Oh, and tell us about your maintenance program.
Actually, it's more like 12 trips around the world - pretty impressive! And I also would like to hear about mack's maintenance program, what year it is and whether it's still running the original engine/tranny.
I'm ain't shy. I was gone this weekend with the Explorer (towing a 2500 lb camper). All I do for maintenance is keep the fluids and filters changed every 5000 miles and keep up with anything that needs fixed. It does have the original engine and transmission and to the best of my knowledge they have not been rebuilt (I bought it used). Sorry I have no pictures to post but it's nothing special, It looks like every other 91' four door Explorer XLT 4X4.
My 94 has 205,000. I am SO happy to hear that it will make it to 300,000! Yes, I also have the original engine and tranny, and do the 3,000-5,000 mile lube, etc...
