Looking good! That paint looks pretty close to the OEM S code Midnight Blue Metallic or Bright Dark Blue Metallic. I actually like the original color on that truck. That green is so 1970s.
I liked the green too, but i was on the fence about green or blue so i let the kids pick the color.
it would have been easier to redo the green as all the interior is in really good condition.
and to top it off the wife likes the blue better.

yes the plan at this point is to stay with the 80s bed, i would like to have the right one, but these trucks are kinda hard to come by here. And most of those beds are toast. I plan to have enough paint left over so when i find the right one it can be matched
Both front outer fenders and hood ready for paint, i will spray in morning if weather holds If things go well i spray tomorrow am And post more pics Primered and ready Some more Hopefully better pics
Well things didn't go as i hoped for, did get fenders painted and cleared.
i ran out of the primer i had, so used a different kind on the hood. I used what left over from my sons truck.
it fish eyed like crazy ( we had same problem on his truck). So i will have to sand down and try again. Paint gun also went stupid and sprayed to one side on hood creating a couple of runs. Then a fly landed in wet paint and messed it up.
so sand again it is Right fender Left fender You can see in background hood, but has to be redone

i propably could change the fenders, but that creates a lot of holes to fill a redrill so right ones will fit. Along with these trucks are not easy to find here. I meet a fellow fte'r a couple of weeks ago awand he is having same problem finding a bed for his obs project
I got some time to work on the truck again. Here are some updates Patching gas tank filler hole in fender. I don't have duel tanks on this truck so i didnt want that left there Glassing in rear fuel tank door. Repairing busted fender on drivers side
More pics Finally got back to passenger side rear cab corner Had to replace small section of door frame as there was nothing to weld to Another view of corner Patch piece cut from another truck Patches welded in Another view of it
