I used to own an old Airslot and used to take folks out to the snapper banks (Murphy's reef and flower gardens) I ferried folks from Port Miserable to the Island when the Bridge got knocked down... I have an OUPV/Six-pack license ... anyway over the years I converted her to Diesel and still have some parts left over that have exceeded marine life.
it's not a question of too much... it is more a question of can you make it operate .... How Long have you worked for Ford ? are you a Mechanic or just a Sales Person ?
I am no sails man. I am a lube tech but I have been working on cars and trucks since I was 5. I am 25 now and pretty much every I know I had to learn on my own and I went to tech school and basically got asked to stay in the shop since I aced every test. The pictures I posted of my old mustang that I built that car turned the dyno at 355 wheel horse power and 395 pound feet of torque. I built that engine with second hand parts on the top end. I had to fabricate some parts that were obsolete and flat unavailable aftermarket.
Years ago I came across a few pictures of one all assembled. The pictures didn't show much, the power was supposed to be somewhere around 350hp? Iirc
That was long before I decided to do my current turbo setup and at the time I thought man if I could get my hands on that thing.
What I really wonder is what was done to the injection pump. I found one somewhere for sale brand new in the box, think it was located in quatar or something like that at a marine supplier. Didn't feel like dropping the dough unless I knew it was highly modified to be worth it.
And to OP, if anyone ever tells you it's not possible, try anyways. If you fail oh well, it is what it is, but if you succeed it's a true mechanical feat and you'll get to reap all the glory when you drive it.
I never thought I'd see the day where I'd have a vgt turbo and 9/16" head studs in a 6.9, yet here we are..
so I just calculated my fuel economy. I am getting 15mpg total. Not too hate full I am very pleased with that.
I always try and plan ahead when I'm going somewhere to allocate more time so I can cruise between 55-60, I get the best fuel milage like that and it's not as hard on the truck.
My 85 used to get 18mpg like that pre turbo, pre overdrive, no clue what it gets now still haven't checked.

mine sees a ton of city start stop and very few highway miles
Does your truck have an auxiliary transmission cooler? If not that's something I would add to prolong the life of the trans.
here's a good one my HVAC only works on vent and defrost. I will not let air go too the floor vents. How do I fix that? Everything is moving as it should and I don't know if its the controller its self or the actuator
