Decided to try a set of peep mirrors, these clamp on so no need for more holes. I like the way they look and these have convex lenses so you can see good out of the drivers side the passengers side not so much, but I had kinda expected that. I kept goin back and forth on mirrors, these might be keepers. We will see
This drives me crazy especially while I'm having my coffee so I fixed these pics for you
If you're running a Microsoft OS this "infranview" is a great little piece of free software. Little bit of a learning curve but for a free package it has a lot of options for photo editing.
BTW great look on the tint job 20% I would agree is the sweet spot.
Started getting stuff ready for our little road trip next Friday made a wood frame to try to keep stuff from rattling and banging around Not shown is my spark plug thread insert kit just incase
Trip went well no problems with the truck, our hotel not so much talk about false advertising! But we made it work and we had a good time. Went to the car show, The truck got alot of attention, made alot of ppl look twice or scratch there heads.
trip was 130 ish miles each way, 30 miles country / town roads and 100 mile hwy driving 17.8 on the way there and 18.5 on way back cruising 75ish. There was a pretty good head win on the hwy on the way up I could feel it push the truck when it gusted alot more then in say a modern car most likely because its shaped like a brick. But at 75-80 mph it cruises at 2600-2700, and the supercharger makes the on ramps and passing lane more fun.
yea 3.55 gears 295 40 18 rear tires. I average 16 mpg when I drive it around here mostly rural with small towns. When I was going threw the tuning process with lots of 2nd gear 2500-5000 and 3000-6000 rpm runs it dropped to 11 or 12 for that tank. That reminds me I am running 93 octane fuel whenever possible and never lower then 90 octane not sure if that helps mpg any, or maybe a combination of thing with the custom tuning?
Lower octane fuel burns slower. For a V-8 with air that's great mpg. Glad the trip went well all in all.
Just a reminder how far you guys have come since this day.and now you're showing her. Great job !
Yea shes changed a little, last night I picked up a spare engine and trans from an old coworker who was stripping a 06 cv interceptor to make a derby car out of. I didnt really need them but the transmissions output shaft and tail housings are a but different then the normal crown vic and a little harder to find and for 200 bucks for the pair he pulled them from a running driving car I couldn't say no. Now I have 2 spare transmissions and 2 spare engines. The engine I really donno what to do with because I already have an aluminum block 4.6 I want to build someday with forged internals, port work and some better cams but its running to good now to mess with. I'll try to find a space saving way to store everything and go from there, anybody got any pallet racks in central new york.
Used a 600lb and a 1000lb HF furniture dolly to store engine and trans nothing fancy but seems to work for now and I can move them around if needed. I wouldn't use them to transport them on but they are working for now the engine doesn't move effortlessly but not to bad at all. Best i can find is the engine weighs about 600 to 650lbs with assesories, trans weighs about 300lbs I have to get another dolly for this engine also engine on stand takes up to much room if im not working on it
Wow, looks like a lot of nice vehicles at the car show. Your 73 looks right at home.
Any other dents attended? Nice maple leaf flying beneath the stars & stripes.
Redroad: LOL what an amazing transformation. And amazing showcase of symond86 talents. Threads like this are inspiration for lots of us dent drivers.
Seriously though: collecting motors and transmissions is a worthy hobby, for sure...probably profitable as well.
But other hobbies--stamp collecting, let's say--are a lot lighter to move around
and storage is also less of an issue. Just sayin'
thanks for the kind words. That was in Alexandria Bay right next door to Canada. My truck was the only dent there but there was a 73 bronco same color as my truck with a good sized lift and 37s and a 74 bronco the darker brown color with very small list on 33s I think. there was a 70s c10, 55 chevy, 50s f1, and a diamond reo a guy put on a different chassis with a 80 ford or chevy flareside bed and that was it for trucks. I think/ hope my engine & motor collection is complete now, no more room, or maybe its a good excuse to try to convince the wife I need a proper shop then she can basically have the whole garage.
Haven't had anything to add to this thread since the truck was in storage al winter but I did buy everything to add cruise control from another member here. Other then that she's running good. I know some people asked for some pics of the garden tractor I posted way back so I will post them I restored it this winter.
