Does anybody need 68 econoline parts? I have pulled the transmission & planning on pulling the engine, then if nobody is interested in anything, hauling it to the farm to use for storage. have a good grille, doors, that weird offset rear axle, front end parts. Its a 200, basic van, no windows.
Kramer, thanks for the info on the modulator valve. Looks like I have two automatic trans now so will have to bone up on them. I know nothing. Bad feeling. Have the manuals and also got a supplemental book on the C4 and C6 so there's hope! This truck sat for about 18 years or so after a good engine rebuild and was driven infrequently by an older guy.. Will check the other items you mentioned also for the leaker.
Went for that test drive and had little pedal so bled it for the third time. Still no better. Then the brain kicked in and I readjusted the new shoes, Wah Lah, instant brakes. Had the drums turned, new shoes, new soft lines and one hard line repair where luck ran out and it wouldn't unscrew and twitsted off. Good to go now. Really like to find the hardware for a front disc conversion if anyone has those bits. Like to have power brakes with it. Got new shocks and front springs to add when the brake bits show. Likely do the bushings too as the suspension is GONE somewhere else; as it ain't on the truck!! LOL
Not sure what to do with the rear leaf springs. Have some of the in between pads so may dis assemble and clean / redo them and see what goes. Got the 'gas adjust' KYB shocks, which have had good results with on other vehicles. We will see. Really likin' the truck so far..... General checkup in progress.
Glad to hear all is well. You doing a complete overhaul including paint on that 460?
Yes sir I sure am. It's an internal balance 460 bored 0.30 over, talked to Lunati and got a roller cam for low end torque. I bought it with D0VE heads and had them reworked. Bought both factory exhaust manifolds from the machine shop that did my engine machine work for $40.00. The machine shop told me a guy brought them in over a year ago to have a broken bolt removed and to have them machined flat, he never came back and picked them up so he sold them to me for the cost of the machine work. The engine will be basically stock other than what I have described. I'm looking at a, I believe it's called a "street brawler" carburetor, I think it's made by Holley or a spin off of Holley. Everyone I have talked to about these carbs say they work really well and are super easy to rejet if needed. I've also got an NP435 4 speed to go behind it I'm going to go through, I know, throw gas mileage to the wind. I purchased a small gravity feed paint sprayer and the "old" ford blue paint from Eastwood to paint it with. Got the high temp black for the exhaust manifolds and I think it'll look good if I paint the intake manifold black and accessory (AC, alternator, power steering, etc.) brackets black as well. I am retired and this is a project of mine I've been tinkering with for a while now. Life gets in the way sometimes LOL but I believe/hope this next week I can get it back on the engine stand and really start going together with it. After I get it in the truck and running/any bugs worked out I am going to build me a cab over camper for the truck. My wife and I are anxious/excited to get back into camping and fishing again in the great state of Arkansas. There are many beautiful places in this state to see and fish and we are planning to see them all before the Good Lord calls us home.

What are the names of those books? lol I think the shoe adjustment gets everyone, I know it got me. I've got a warped drum it feels like, I have heard you have to be careful getting them turned because they don't pay as much attention these days to minimum material thickness and can get them too thin and they will warp. What bolt pattern is the truck and what style of front end does it have? Shocks are on my list right after a modulator, I know they are gone but haven't been as critical as other parts, it still drives, it's just loosey-goosey going down the road.

Blue and black will look good. Are you using flameproof paint for the exhaust manifold? I used VHT brand for mine, supposed to be good for 2000* I think. It holds up pretty good. I need to do more fishing as well. Year before last I went fishing every day, sometimes twice. Didn't do much last year and no so far this year. But my fishing buddy has been spending most all of his time in Mississippi. I'm fortunate enough to have a fish pond here in town, but they haven't been maintaining it very well the last couple of years. I'm pretty sure an otter has eaten all of the fish in the last few months.

Ha , seriously tho the same books, 'SA DESIGN' brand, that did the How to Build Max Performance FORD FE engines. How to rebuild and modify C-4 and C-6 Automatic Transmissions.
the bolt pattern is the standard ford 5.5 x 5 I think and the stock kingpin arrangement, no mods there, stone stock. This truck will stay with original type parts, thats why the quest for a 71-79' disc spindle and steer gear arrangement.
We've got that Loosey Goosey feeliing too. (There ought to be a song in there!)
This truck's justification for being here is to replace a really nice 95' I-6 with overdrive that is for farm use only. that one only has 84k and will be hard to let go of, but this 70' is it's replacement for farm, maybe a run to town, so the 95' has got to go.
Luck with yours my friend and let me know if I can help you with anything. Eons ago, I went to HS in jonebur. Fond memories and a penchant for MG(s) developed there.
Finished buttoning up the 351 w. Dropped in my new distributor and bolted on a shiny new Edelbrock. Needing the steel line that goes from fuel pump to carb and a couple small parts and she should fire up.

Rezvani's Latest Post-Apocalyptic Monster Is a Ford F-150 Raptor Underneath
It had passed on through Jonesboro already when I posted last. I had a couple of minutes after calling and checking on everyone to hop on the forums. They were talking about another one, but I didn't hear anything else about it. I know Jonesboro got it pretty rough.
Yellercat what's wrong with the 95? If it's fixable get crazy and drop the 70's body on it.
Ah heck, nothing at all wrong with it!
Its ALL RIGHT, and a worker, just my preference for older Fords Had it for the fuel injection starts cause the 52' was getting cantankerous and decided he was too old. But now there's an 88' with fuel injection to take his place. Its like 'musical trucks' around here. The 88' is still in progress but near ready for test flight. . . .
