KInda goes back to the flat tax system-- If everyone paid taxes on what they spend-- instead of what the earned-- More taxes would be collected overall-- If illeagals paid taxes -- more taxes would be paid overall-- If Everyone had a 401k instead of a pension-- then the Gov would save money instead of paying out for life--- I know a guy who worked for a city 18 years-- and then retired-- the city will pay him for life- so they get 18 years of work and pay out till he is 80ish. That is what allot of the Government debt is-- Pensions.
Pensions in government services are an easy target for those on the outside, but if you look closely they have often been robbed by the government or business to cover bad decisions and then blamed later when the bill comes due. Same deal with Social Security.
In Kansas KPERS was set up as a match system retirement program to compensate government employees as an incentive to stay when they often could make more in the private sector. They also came from a time when most large corporate entities also had pensions. Both were "borrowed/robbed from for other stuff and then later seen as a burden to be destroyed because they cost too much money. During the Brownback administration the KPERS system was not fully funded so there could be a zero state tax for certain businesses that included farmers, small individually owned businesses, but also included the KOCH bros. lawyers, doctors and many other wealthy people. Bill Self the coach at KU set himself up as a "Bill Self" business and had his salary paid to that with no state income tax while you and I still paid state taxes.
Mark my words a flat tax will screw the little guy in the same way as usual and a sales tax is really regressive for a poor person.
THe problem with instituting a flat tax- is that the rich already have their money and so now they would be paying taxes on things they buy-- SO they will never ever vote that into law-- A flat tax on everyone at the same percentage would be great-- if you make millions then you pay more in taxes- if you make very little you pay little in taxes. Granted that is a very simplified version but it is one that If implemented I think could work. KPERS is a great example of States paying for people for years after they retire-- It has been mis managed -- The new York city Pension and Baltimore city Pension Has been running in the millions of debt every year for several years. Pensions are a nice idea but they do not work-- If you have a cart being pulled by 4 people- and one person retires and rides in the cart- now you only have 3 pulling-- if 2 retire then you have 2 pulling and 2 riding-- once you have more riding then pulling then the system breaks down-- its the same for welfare or unemployment or any program-- once you have more taking out the putting in then it is not a viable system.
I am not a fan of taxes, but I understand the reason behind it. I just wish the Gov was more cautious about how they spend the money, that I am sending them. There is no reason that taxes should pay for a group of professional individuals to go out for strippers and drinks on the taxpayers dime. (only just one example of how gov money was spent) There is also no reason that Gov vehicles and security should be used for some elected official's vacation to a fancy island.
Gubment officials are entitled to a good time now and then, notice how hard they have to work to defend their very existence.
as for the expensive toilets, they have very nice bottoms and need to be comfortable when taking care of the people's business.
I would like a little more accountability.. but hey,
People in hell want ice water too..
My last snarcasm for the day?.. Doubt it
I pulled into Pagosa Springs Colorado with warning lights and sirens going off on my truck, and brakes a smoking like it was a forest fire. My truck overheated, transmission overheated, and I melted the paint on the trailer brake wheels. That was a scary ride down the mountain.
I live in Pagosa , good friend is er nurse, happens quite often. When a big rig loses control it never turns out well.
Wolf Creek pass is no joke, especially on the west side.
You can say that again!! If I take it again, I may take it down in 4x4 low, with the front vaccum disconnects temporarily disabled. (if I am pulling a heavy trailer)
That's kind of what it was last time I went down.. I was on edge the whole way down, then when I finally got to a place I started to feel a little more secure, the truck sirens started going off.
The world is past plain crazy now they're bat $#it crazy.
did I miss something, is it cool to be a rioter and looter now?
I wish I could see the future a year or two.,
What the hell is the point of destroying your own damn city, I would like to be King for 24 hours there would be a lot less mouths to feed.
End of rant !!
They aren't necessarily burning down their own city, some are being bussed in from other locations to riot, being paid by Soros to riot. This was orchestrated and planned long before George, they just had wait for the opportunity.
