Tonight is a pork scrifice at the Woerner house hold-- My wife is plugging in the smoker at noon-- and the daughter is supposed to check on it every 2 hours-- I will be home soon to see how it went :-)

I smoked several pounds of different pork last night-- wanted to save some for the camping weekend-- Well lakes are closed so I will be camping at a friends pasture--- I need a "farm" of my own-- just some land out there where I don't have to put up with allot of stuff

I am thinking of making a water filter out of sand and charcoal-- my issues so far in previous attempts is that it tastes nasty. It tastes like sewer water filtered through charcoal. (and it wasn't sewer water going in) I can't imagine lake/pond water being much better. Boiling it doesn't really help. Any real thoughts?
They aren't giving them away, but they work great. In the desert southwest sometimes the only practical water source are sketchy looking water pockets or tanks tinaja filled with rainwater or sometimes cattle stock tanks. A Katadyn will take muddy or green silt laden water and turn it crystal clear.

Most people are carrying on here, and some are using a mask, some (even fewer) are using gloves. I went to Menard's to pick up house repairs and supplies twice over the weekend, Saturday was packed and 1/2 of the people were wearing masks, Sunday must have been about as busy, but there were less masks. I probably looked like I was going to rob the place when I came in, but I didn't want to be "That guy"
