Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Just got word that our Daughter, SIL and grandkids spent most of the afternoon at the ER down in San Diego. Apparently they came down with the H1N1 bug.
Good morning Oregon, hope the weekend went good. Just finished up clearing up the 6" of white crap from around the units here at work this morning. Supposed to get another 3-5 tomorrow night. Super.
I decided it was time for a new pair of hunting boots this year. My old combat boots finally wore out and were never waterproof, and my Alaska tennis shoes (Xtra Tuff neoprene boots) while waterproof aren’t very good for hiking long distance. I looked into Danner and Irish Setter and found that most of their more affordable boots are imported now. I wanted something leather and rebuildable also.
After sending emails to both companies asking about a veterans discount I got a reply right away from Danner saying they don’t offer one, but they gave me a 25% off coupon code. I still haven’t heard back from Irish Setter in over a week.
I decided on the Danner Elk Hunters. Hand made here in Oregon from US materials, full grain leather upper, Gore-Tex, and 400 gram thinsulate. With the discount I got them for $230 after discount.
Looks like a nice boot Evan, do you think it will take long to break them in. I made the mistake of hiking in a new pair I bought and my feet didn't thank me for it...lol
