Made it home from Dallas, Mother had a good time. Washington Street Steakhouse was slammed tonight with it being Valentines Day. A very nice couple moved from the four person table they were at to an open two person table so we could get 92 year old mom seated without a long wait. They only downfall was that they ran out of the BBQ boneless pork rib special while we were ordering. Another waitress got her order in just before ours and cleaned out the last four servings they had. I think they should have shot another pig, I even offered them the bullet and the gun, but alas, we had to settle for 'certified' angus beef. I've always wondered what an uncertified angus beef was. The ones we used to have on the farm/ranch were either Angus or they weren't. No certification needed. They always looked a lot different than the Herford's did.

Rich, we usually have an annual pow wow - Get Together at the old Radar Airforce Station near Condon, Or. that usually lands on the first weekend in June. Memorial Day is the week before that this year, school will still be in session so it seems like that would be a good weekend for this year. Ample room for parking and camping but no sewer or water hookups. Since we are already approaching mid February the gang should start having a serious discussion about this years dates?
Chris??????????? We'll have to coordinate with 'over there'.

I hear you on longevity and Vacation. They had decided to put a cap on accumulated vacation and comp time and I was always maxed out. Between something happening at work that kept me late and then court dates when I should have been sleeping, hunting or fishing, I was making 6.5 hours of vacation per week (maxed out based on longevity) and usually averaged 8 to 12 hours a week OT. When I worked overtime, we had the choice of putting in for OT pay or Comp Time. I would always put in for comp time until it was maxed out and only then put in for OT pay. It was a 'curse', but living on the N. Umpqua River, 5 miles from the S. Umpqua River, 70 miles from the Rogue and only 85 miles from Diamond Lake I didn't have a hard time figuring out what to do with the time-and yes it was vert easy to have more time than money to accommodate the time!

Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Hanging in at 37 since 0412 when the one dog decided it was time to get everyone up and play games.
Took the wife out on a dinner date last night. It was kind of like back in Junior High...had mom along as a chaperone, although she is a lot older now (92).
