2019 General Chat
The longer version is that I'm not sure what happened - still trying to figure it out! I'm pretty sure I was double teamed, hypnotized and hood winked though. My original intent was to get some prices and compare them with Apache prices and play both ends against the middle. Instead I ended up using prices from Apache and Guarantee to use against Highway.
It started out innocent enough. I was looking at the 975, Warden was O.K. with it, but she liked the 1062. I pointed out the 975 saved us about 200 lbs.. She pointed out the 1062 had more open floor space...and so it went.
Found Emily (sister to a fellow we've known there for a long time) and discovered her brother no longer worked for Highway Trailer Sales and was off with his wife having a baby. Had her take us through the 975 and 1062 and point out a few options and then she had to go take a phone call.
Took an hour or so to take a look at some really nice 5th wheels and came to the conclusion that the boat would not fit in the back of the pickup while we were towing a 5th wheel. I did however find some really comfy recliners in the 5th wheels I could try out....
Then, by accident, we ran into a Lance Factory Rep who was on site and answering general as well as technical questions. He took us through the 975 and the 1062 and pointed out some really interesting construction features and I discussed options with him and what the weight of the various options were. His knowledge of the nuts and bolts was impressive. He also had direct contact to the Factory to confirm some things I was talking about was possible.
The next thing I knew the Warden had 'drug' me over (kicking and screaming) and we were filling out a Custom Order form instead of going for one at the show or off the lot. Somehow in talking with the Reginal Factory Rep, and Emily, we got the customizations we wanted. Then the bomb shell. There was no 1062 available nor scheduled to be on the factory line to modify / customize to our order.
They would not be able to start a custom build until right at or just after March 1st. After March 1st, they could no longer build a 2019, it would have to be a 2020 year model. Factory rep made more calls and coordinated with us and Emily.
The end result is we are getting a 2020 customized to our version with some built in cables and harnesses to upgrade a few things (like solar) later if we want to.
Not sure what the Factory Rep did, but he got us the 2020 Custom build quite a bit cheaper than what they had figured the 2019 at and we got it much cheaper than the show special pricing. We are getting 3 different multi piece special packages for no additional charge along with a free second battery and the battery isolator for free.
I'm working on relieving the weight and stress from my back and hips John. Surprising on how much help it is emptying the pockets out.

The camper we are getting is going to look pretty much the same as this one in the pics...The first four pics are of an actual camper at the RV Show that we customized our custom order from.
The last picture is a download from the Lance Web site showing the Mystic Shores interior that we ordered for our camper.
