In NY years back, I was going about 40mph on snow covered road. Guy in a Mustang had to go by at a good speed. About a mile down the road...there he is in the ditch...
first year i had my stang i was working afternoons.. we got off close to midnight... itd been mix of rain and snow all that week... during the mornings it was mostly raining but not warm enough to melt the snow... and at night it dropped to the teens... once the sun went down the streets were nothing but black ice... i was crawing between 35 and 45 on a 55mph road... people typically do 70 down it... this one guy in a lifted 80's styled bronco with giant off road tires went flying past me... (probably still doing 70).... i found him about 3 miles up the road in the median on his roof...
Guy in NY said he would take 1 wheel off on each side of his dually because the snow would pack in between the tires and he wouldn't get much traction.
About 8" now on the car trailer.
ive never had any issues with mine in the snow... ive heard the same stuff from people saying the same about mud... personally ive always felt its because people are trying to drive in conditions without the proper tires... i put on some old work boots to go swap the rechargeable batteries from the driveway markers... snow was up over the top of the boots every step i took... soles of the shoes are 1" thick and come up well over my ankles... good thing for pants keeping the snow outta my boots...
logged in to see how everybody is doing with this snow, and end up getting a lesson about Shawn's underwear preferences. Hmmm...
Just south of Raleigh, got a dusting, can still see pinestraw sticking out from under it all. At least it's all still crunchy and not slick as of right now. I think it's switched to rain as well. I've got to run out to the store later on to pick up a few things for next week, but right now I think it's time for bacon.
If you have to be out in this, stay safe!
just went out to clean off the snow from the tonneau... has a tendency to cave in the top when enough accumulates on it... was 2/3 the way up the back window... so guessing about 8" out there and its still snowing like a blizzard out there....
