Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Put the camper back on the pickup last night. I was supposed to get the skylight fixed this morning, but they called just as I was walking out the door and said the part hadn't arrived. Supposed to be Tuesday or Wednesday now. Don't want to take the camper off for just a day or two so I guess the pickup will be tied up for a day or two.
Evan, I've been seeing some 'bald' deer out up on the mountain just after shooting hours...of course...while driving back out to the pavement. Heard something bigger than a timber tiger snapping some pretty good sized limbs in the brush and timber starting about 10-15 minutes before the end of shooting hours. The time of day when it is too dark to see or ident anything that is in the timber and not in a clear cut. A couple of us were going out at 0dark30 in the morning and try the other end of the day, but I guess that is going to wait now since the pickup will be tied up. Still getting them in the game camera's out on the farm well after dark into the early morning hours. Clear skies and lots of moon light.
We went all day Saturday & Sunday and didn't hear a single shot or see anything until about 1815 then heard some distance shots. Not sure if they were 'game' shots or hunters "unloading via the tube" after giving up for the day. There is a doe hunt going on up there and like you, I didn't draw a tag this year. I didn't even draw a muzzleloader tag this year. ODFW has really screwed up our primitive hunts, giving all the animals and time to the archery hunters.
Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Part for the camper is in so we'll run the camper into town in the morning to get the skylight replaced.
We also have to get Eitirie 14 year old (lab mix) to vet tomorrow morning for another diabetic curve test. The diabetes has taken his eye sight now, but he just has too much spark and spunk for me to even consider the alternative for the old man.
Morning all and Happy Tuesday. Got a buddy coming over Thursday to spray the rooms so it looks like I will be starting on the floors in the bedrooms this weekend. Provided the knees and legs are up to it.
