Belated good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Made it home last night. My 91.5 year old mother said she had more fun in the last 3 days up there than she has had in the last 3 years. Everyone had a great time.
Only down side was getting chewed out by the Park Rangers on the last night (Thursday night) we were up there. They decided, (after 3 nights of cooking hamburgers, hotdogs, Smores and more) that our propane fire ring was not allowed, even though the Detroit State Recreation Area web site said it was. "The fire ban applies to wood, charcoal, and other flame sources that cannot be turned off with a valve. Liquid fuel stoves or cooking devices that can be turned off with a valve are permitted, but cannot be left unattended." No signs anywhere in the park banning it and when we checked in, the Ranger in the registration booth said they were fine.
Mother really liked the boat rides. We took her down to the log boom at Detroit Dam, and we took her sight seeing up the canyon arms. She really enjoyed going up Heater Creek and seeing the falls.
Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Got the first of the month books caught up and taken care of. Studied up on some stuff for a Board of Directors meeting next Tuesday. I'll worry about unpacking and cleaning tomorrow.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 60.0 with a very light marine layer.
Been working on the camper fire this morning trying to find out where the investigation is at. About the only thing I've gotten so far is the start of a massive headache.
