Great write up. I was able to find a console with upfitter switches online. It did not have the sunroof buttons so i swapped the switches and the mesh cover onto my overhead console. Works like a charm!

This is a pic of my original cover removed. You can see where the panel is made to add the Upfitter switches. Only the cover would need replaced depending on your slider and motion sensor configuration if Ford would only sell the covers. As you did, I’d consider purchasing an overhead panel without the sunroof buttons but with the switches (if I ever do it again) and just swap the switches and cover (assuming the no-sunroof panel would be cheaper).

There is a part number molded into the cover. A search came up with nothing though, I don't know how big of a market there is for upfitters but someone could mold or 3D print the cover and sell it with switches and the wiring harness, it would be less of a head ache.
I am super excited! The other day looked for the plug in my A pillar and it was there. Tonight I took down my driver side inner wheel well liner just for the fun of it, to see if the other plug was there. From what I have read, I was certain it would be, but wanted to check it out anyway. Well, it was there and the liner wasn't all that hard to get down and put back up. So, on with ordering tha parts (that have skyrocketed in price) and my 2018 F350 will finally have upfitter switches!
Have a 2020 f350 tremor
didn't come with upfitters.
Bought the parts because the harnesses were in place.
Had the dealer do it. Got it all in, but the the harness in the wheel well had a harness plugged into it.
I would have lost some functionality to rear side window and a sensors in rear view mirror apparently.
anyone else experience this or are the blowing smoke? On the upside they didn't charge me to do it as the super duty tech said he was glad to have the experience

I also have a 2020 tremor that someone special ordered to the dealership but backed out of the deal when it arrived. And the boob who ordered it didnt get the upfitters! I love my new truck, but this is the only thing i hate about this truck, it had eveything was looking for except the upfitters. I think its ridiculous that an off road package such as the tremor doesnt come with the upfitters as standard for lights and such.
Anyways to my point. Brendan ive read this thread a half dozen times over and from the info ive gathered here i think they are blowing smoke. i have a lariat ultimate with every option minus sunroof and my hidden wheel well harness has nothing conected to it. hopefully you can find a way to get the install completed.
Also i have a question about the parts you ordered for your 2020. For the 2020 trucks ford changed the underhood layout for the upfitters to locate the fuse/relay box on the passenger side of the engine bay. Since my truck is a 2020 i'd like to keep it true to its year and get this updated under hood harness. Do you have the part number for that harness? And would you mind sharing it please. Ive called 4 different ford dealerships and gotten part numbers for 2020 overhead console and the headliner wiring harness, but no one can figure out what i'm talking about for the under hood harness.
I know this is an old thread but I purchased a 2017 F250 with low miles last month. I didn’t realize what upfitters were until I saw a truck with them. I asked the dealership if they could do them and they told me they weren’t interested in doing it. I found this thread and luckily had all the wire harnesses in place and did it myself with the help of this thread. The price for parts was a little different in 2022.
my console was 581 dollars. The a pillar harness was 102 and the one in the engine bay was 208. I’m sure I still saved money doing it myself. Thanks to everyone who posted pics and part numbers.
This is awesome thank you! The wiring harness from A pillar to console shows out of stock and not compatible with my VIN, rolling the dice on this since the new to me F250 didn't have upfitters
I wasn't looking forward to doing this install but, parts arrived today and i wanted to beat the rain that should show up overnight, It went much easier than expected with the worst part being the removal of the fender liners. One item I thought was correct wasn't and my lock/unlock modules on my door handles stopped working. Turned out I didn't have the plug fully seated in the security module.
