No snow here but it was almost cold enough for it, had a drizzle coming down most of the day. Managed to get some cleanup done and started to make a scrap metal load, figured that it would be prudent to get rid of anything that will take up valuable space. Won't be much of a load but every bit of room that I can make now will come in real handy this winter.
The last time that I did a scrap run it was $100 a ton, with luck I might have 12 - 1500 lbs so it'll buy me some more fence boards which keeps some money in my pocket.
We have no place to sell scrap here. I Dryden they have drop off boxes to get rid of metal scrap but the only ones making the money is the scrap yard...
We had very light snow here last night and a bit through out the day John, hardly any left except for on my deck.
What`s the price of scrap steel like now Perry? I also have some big aluminum airplane parts to sell. If you don`t need that 76 F250 4 sp it`ll have to go too.
There are after hrs drop off boxes for scrap metals here too John. What`s the price of gas in Ont, Alberta now? We`re back up to $1.26, $1.16 at Costco and diesel is $1.15
In the next week or so I'm setting the trucks up nose to nose and putting up the gantry crane so it would be about the right time to figure out how to get that transmission up here. That way when it's time to start blending these 2 trucks at least all the parts will be around to test fit them together and make my engine and transmission mounts. I don't know what the price of scrap metal is right now Morris but hopefully Trumps tariffs have raised the price, that way I can buy more panel boards for the fence and finish off the shed, still need about 25 boards.
