I'll look around at the auction and see what shows up, pretty sure that I can make a drill rig or guillotine style system mounted on a 4 wheel cart. Got a pto system and hydraulic motors with controls in the shed.
Was doing the kijiji search for hoists and lifts and one of those drillers showed up in the side bar ads, $3200 for it. Would take about 160 holes to pay for it, 320 to make it worth while, would be making swiss cheese all summer
Hello fellow Canadians. This thread in the 73-79 Dentside forum might be of interest to you. The gist:
Brokerage For Canadians (ATTN Vendors)
"So today I finally figured out how to avoid brokerage fees from UPS. Which means I can order more things from the vendors on here. Was a VERY simple process. I called UPS with my tracking number and told them I wanted to self clear. They said I would hear from someone in 24 hours. The next day I got a call asking for my email address and they sent me the forms. I went to a local CBSA (Canada customs) office and received a B15 form, after paying my taxes. UPS is just down the street so I went there and picked up my package. A little effort, but the savings were great. I was charged $96 by UPS for brokerage and taxes, I self cleared for $27. So it's definitely worth the effort. I hope this helps."
"I got gouged by UPS for brokerage fees once years ago. I now always insist on shipping to Canada via USPS. It may take a little longer but there are no brokerage fees. Just taxes due on pickup at the post office. So far I have never had a vendor who wouldn't ship by USPS.
When I shipped a cage kit I had it shipped to a pickup point in the US near the border and drove down to pick it up. That save me $350."
That is good to know, I have a PO Box in Montana so I have stuff shipped there that I can't get shipped by USPS. It is an hour and a half drive for me down to the states.
How does you Kubota handle the 4' rototiller? I want to get a rototiller for my 30 hp JD but don`t want to get one that`s too big for it. My son has a Kubota, they seem to last forever.
It handles the rototiller with ease. I'm sure your tractor could handle a 5' rototiller with ease. My tractor is about 20 years old and has 1500 hours on it but still looks and operates like it was new. Dad had one and sold it with over 5000 hours on it and the one he has now has over 6000 hrs. He is looking for a new one now but the one he currently has should be used in a Kubota commercial to show how tough they are. He has never abused it but it gets a work out year round.
Thanks John. I live 1 hour from the border and use a border service on the US side that accepts shipments and only charges $5 a package to hold until pick up. Works very good. Darrell
