The railcar mine was in reported emptied and waybill recorded at Selkirk, NY at 1:22pm today. Hope it gets on a truck soon. It's probably a 4-5hr truck ride from there to the dealer.
So my salesman has been less then helpful with providing updates. I've actually been updating him from the info I received from Ford. I emailed him a couple days ago and asked if he could get the rail car number for me. With no response, I emailed again and he responded that "we don't get that info".
Is there some other way I can get the rail car number?

They do not get that info on the visibility report but they have the ability to track inbound vehicles which includes truck or rail numbers. The salesman may not have access to the information but design of the dealership; he may be telling you a fib; or he might just not know how to accomplish the request. You could ask to speak to the new car manager or the secret guy behind the curtain who passes or fails the price offers coming in from the subjects in the land of Oz!
Your sales guy is a pud. The railcar number is on the vehicle visibility /history report. Ask the guy who placed the order to pull up the report, snap a pic with his phone and text it to you. Some people just shouldn't work in the people business.

Thanks, I'm going to try that route and inform him that the guy placing the orders should be able to get the info. I asked for that guys contact info so I can bug him directly. Maybe my salesman hasn't run into a customer like me before! LOL However, he's been doing this for 17 years so you would think so, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
Well that didn't work. Says the guy told him it could be the week of December 5th and that's all the info he gave me. On the 14th, Ford told me it was put on the rail car that day, that it should ship soon, and an ETA of 27NOV delivery to dealer. Guess I just wait.
My sales guy at the dealership just emailed me and informed me the truck is in transit. He informed it should land at the dealership on 11/22 or 11/23. Think I'll head over there this afternoon to start the paperwork and get a rail car number.
Mine is on the train and has a car number TTGX706518 it is currently on CSX, but is supposed to change to Union Pacific tomorrow morning. Any tips on how to track Union Pacific. I see some maps earlier in the tread, it would be awesome to be able to track that way.
