Has to do with marketing laws. All states make it illegal to direct market vehicles and they have to be sold through independent dealers. Picking it up direct would violate contracts and laws which have been effect for years.

So Epic, did u get your truck? Mine builds this Friday.
I ordered a '13 and in March that year I tracked it thru ND on its way to Laurel. One morning I checked and it was in my town of Dickinson. I took my boys on the way to school and found the rail car. About a half mile from the elementary school. We drove down along the train tracks til we found it....
My wife walks around the house teasing me saying "TTGX" cause she can't stand the way I say it in the phone. She laughs each time too...

Call the dealer and get your rail car number. It will be on the vehicle history/visibility report. Then you can use the phone system to follow the rail car all the way to it's final destination.

Once the vehicle is "in transit" it will have this info on the Visibility report? I ask because as of this evening Ford Chat has told me my truck is "in transit" but still can't give me an ETA. I will be calling my dealer in the morning and also Customer Care to see if they can extend my 4 (yes four) $750 private cash coupons since they expire Saturday and I don't expect to take delivery by then. Or if they can even use all 4 of them.

Well mine hasn't gotten very far. The rail car left KTP on 11/1 at 14:00, passed Obannon, and is now in Louisville as of 10:09pm last night.
Rail car is TTGX994383 if anyone else can see realtime location of it.

I tried to trace it on the CSXT website and it says I am not a party to the waybill
