I did that and it said car was placed at location. I assume that means it is off the train? And waiting for a ride to the dealer?
Thanks for the help👍
Isn't it so cool to track the trucks? I swear my wife thinks I'm a total geek each time I reported a new location. Still fun though. A standard rail delivery can go fast or slow and really depends on how many cars they're working on and how many folks show up to work on a given day. My rail car was placed for a day before it was unloaded. Then it sat Ready in a numbered section until it was assigned to a transport load and truck. The dispatch officer does have authority to fill up those trucks in many different ways. They can mark any given car a higher priority and then choose a tranport vehicle to send it on. In a really speedy scenario where the truck is unloaded on the day it arrives at the rail terminal, it could be selected for delivery the same day. Transport time is then dependent upon the distance and route the driver has to take. He may stop and unload a couple of cars at several dealerships before he gets to yours. Of course it can be slower.

I work in the Houston area and I see dealers coming to the unloading facility frequently to pick up new vehicles instead of waiting on a transport. Maybe you can talk your dealer into doing this to expedite delivery.
Anybody tracking rail transport on the east coast?
Any idea where they would be unloaded in PA? I'm 600 miles from KTP, assume it would still go by rail? I'm still 3 or 4 weeks (or so) away from delivery but curious as the date gets closer.
Thanks Xwild. Well, we have some rail yards or hubs in the area, Harrisburg and Enola (just outside Harrisburg) but I don't know if they are big enough or handle auto transport. I just don't know anything about rail transport to even guess!
So Epic, did u get your truck? Mine builds this Friday.
I ordered a '13 and in March that year I tracked it thru ND on its way to Laurel. One morning I checked and it was in my town of Dickinson. I took my boys on the way to school and found the rail car. About a half mile from the elementary school. We drove down along the train tracks til we found it....
My wife walks around the house teasing me saying "TTGX" cause she can't stand the way I say it in the phone. She laughs each time too...
