I think you may be thinking of this as is relates to a truck with IFS, in which case yes a level kit puts more stress on the ball joints because it changes the angle...happened to me on my 04 F150.
Although a level kit on a solid axle, control arm suspension does change your caster angle, I"m not sure that it necessarily puts more stress on the ball joints, but I guess it's possible.
Thats right, i wasnt even thinking about the solid axle being different. So is the caster angle anything to be concerned with as far as longevity with a snow plow package?

Since it's coming from the factory, I would assume that the alignment is all within spec. If you put a level kit ontop of that, you probably should address the caster so that it's back to factory spec. If it isn't, not sure if it's a ball joint longevity issue, but may result in handling characteristics that you might not be happy with.

ok thanks. I like a leveled look, so i was planing on getting a truck with the snow plow pkg for the added height, which is plenty high, then put a smaller block in the rear to bring it down even with the front. I know thats opposite of what most people do, but i wanted to keep the front stock to avoid the headache of possible front end issues.
Guys hopefully I'll have some pictures to share tomorrow afternoon with the level kit and 35" Toyo's.. Had to order the Caster shims, should be here in the morning.
I just purchased a F350. There is not as much room as my 2015 with a 2.5" leveling kit, maybe 1" less. I think my 325/60r20s (35") will fit, but likely not without some rubbing and trimming. I still think a leveling kit will be needed to have good travel without rubbing. Just my initial thoughts.
Thanks guys, haven't had any issues with anything at all. Eightysecond its a shade darker than the back glass I think it's 35%.
Epic it's been crazy busy here at work and haven't had time to take it down to the tire store yet, going to make time in the morning and I'll post up some pics.
Rutcutter that looks really sharp. Especially since it is in my colors. I don't dare do the tint since the cops have all been issued densitometers and often make stops just to check the glass. Don't need to be stopped anytime but some might be worse than others.
