Sailun s637 and TPMS

I would like to know as well.

However, called Sailun in Canada and spoke with an engineer who said only that Sailun does extensive testing and he did not know of any known problems with TPMS other than that tire goes to 110psi and some sensors do not read that high. But the Ford sensors do read to 125psi.
So, the engineer wasn't sure at Sailun tires. Hmmm. I may try in a few weeks as the satisfaction rating seems to be extremely high with those tires.

My tt tires are steel Belted tires I am guessing the side walls are as well, the are ST trailer tires, the TPMS sensors work fine in mine.

Boy, they sure are proud of their in-bed box and 12 pin extension harness.. $113 for a metal box? Plus the harness extension, for way too much and a 18 dollar piece of rubber.. GTFOOH!! $204 for nothing? Plus, I bet they're super proud of their proprietary shipping too, I didn't even look that up.. Somebody's smoking something down there in Arizona.. I'm thinking a little shade tree ingenuity will save that dough.. I took mine apart and checked it out. The 7/12 will fit in the hole in the aluminum bed side (under the plastic Ford box) mounted horizontally. Or I may take metal out if I really want it mounted vertically, doubtful though, keep it simple. I'm gonna make a plate out of sheet anything metal and rattle can it black. Done. Probably got some grey gasket material laying around too if want to get real special. It'll sit "flusher" too, don't really like the Ford box anyway. As for the wiring, any monkey can extend a simple harness like that. I'll look to post pictures when I'm done.. I can't believe products like these get any traction at all.. I guess the plug and play, easy peasy crowd will eat it up.

I found out from a fellow FTE member that is in the tire business that it's not the steel carcass blocking the signal that is the potential conflict with the Ford sensors. It's the fact that steel carcass tires have a VERY thick bead which may contact the sensor when mounted up. So, it will be interesting to see how that plays out with the GY G614's which have a enormous bead.

Please keep updated as I have G614's but the kit in Canada is a lot more expensive then what you pay so I am willing to wait for your results. Sorry for being so cheap

Are the camera and TPMS sensors supposed to come with the truck? Or are they a separate purchase?

I've got the super duper camera kit and 5th wheel prep and such on mine. But the only box it had in it was for the bed cleats.

The trailer camera and TPMS are an option that can be ordered with the truck but are not included in any other package. They can also be bought as an accessory after the fact.

It's called free enterprise. They need to price it high enough to make sense for them. I wouldn't call $204 a lot to spend for this. How much is your time worth?

There's always that one guy... I'm all for free markets and such and this guy's market will determine if he keeps making them or just goes back to making walkway railings for the city. I don't know what my times worth at home, sitting around or chasing the dog around with an RC car but I'll be damned if I'm gonna spend half a day's pay on some dude's metal box.

Mine is done btw.. Pictures inbound

Hopefully, I'm not more than a week or two away from getting my 5ver back from the shop and mounting up the G614's. I guess then we'll know the answer. I had to order two more sensors from my dealer, but they are supposed to be in next week.

Call me the Geico Gecko

I just saved 100% in 100 minutes. Zero dollars spent so far.. I have plenty of wire, most all sizes, I'll extend the harness tomorrow. I'm gonna cut the corners off also and maybe round them off a little, make it look a little softer like the factory styling. It'll be LineXed in Tuesday and it'll almost disappear.

Trimmed some aluminum with tin snips.
Factory bolt holes and j-nuts are behind the hinges, hidden, which is nice but there's clearance issue. So, I took the Torx head bolts from the Box-Link plate and swapped them. After LineX, this thing is gonna look sweet.

Rodney, the OE sensors are 433 Mhz. - how does that compare with TST or other aftermarket external mounted sensors you are familiar with?

Rodney, I got to thinking about this information. It occurs to me that this problem is exacerbated on many AL RV wheels as they are probably 6.0 in rims instead of the 6.75 the G614s specify.

I don't know Steve. G614's say 6.5" but as I've said, they don't say that's a minimum. They say it's the recommended width. It would be better if they gave an acceptable range like more tires do but they don't. Anyways, that's only a 1/4" on each side. I guess you could just miss clearance by that much. As to frequency, I don't think that's it. Just like on the 450, I think it's the shape of the Ford sensor combined with the wheel and bead that poses the possible conflict. When I talked to Dave (dbilson on FTE who's also coming to the G2G) he told me in his years in the business he's never seen an OE or aftermarket sensor that wouldn't transmit through a steel carcass tire. The only issue he's seen has been physical clearance. He also said he runs inside mount sensors in his RV wheels with 614's. No problem at all but they are aftermarket with a different shape profile.

Got it....thanks for that. And yes, you're correct, it was late when I wrote that last and I was confusing the Toyo 19.5 recommended width with the GY G614s.

Well, I should know the answer in the next couple of weeks. Do we know if anyone has tried to run aftermarket internal sensors with the OE trailer TPMS module?
