I hope you don't need any more PDFs from me for a while.
I found the source of the burnt electrical smell. It was the
PC that I have all the workbook stuff on. That is also the one
I use when burning dual layer DVDs on. I think it's just the
power supply fan. Stupid thing has a very large output supply
and was special order. Will have to do some surgery on it tonight
and see if a transplant will extend it's life. This is the first chance
that I have had to sit down and read Emails and posts.

This is what happens when you don't torque the secondary fuel filter cap to 14 nm
Now you know why I got this truck cheap

As a lot of you know,I'm big fan of Mishimoto products. Naturally I'm installing their thermostat. The oil in this truck was coal black,so the more heat the better ,T6 and a new Motorcraft filter.

First off,I got it running but it's blowing white smoke pretty bad. The good news it's hitting on all 8 cylinders or so it seems. FICM voltages are ok (46.0 being the lowest),it's got to go out to be looked at by Ed (that's another story I don't want to get into because it involves kids) I got to do a bubble test, with it blowing that much smoke I got a feeling its got a bad oring or a bad stick. I'd like to give out some thanks to some people that have been helping along the way. Rizzi: even though you are in Texas your moral support kept me going. Jeff @ Diesel redemption: thanks for the great used parts and fast shipping,You guys need parts this is the guy to call.Freehold Ford parts crew:I can't believe thee obscure parts you have in stock and had it out and waiting for me. Sean: your pdf files saved me a done of head scratching. Diesel Tech Ron and Sr Master tech : may you guys rest in peace but your video's will keep you living on helping the everyday Powerstroker. Oh,and you guys reading the thread and your support too. I'm still not out of the woods but it's getting there. And I can't forget my wife, for awhile there I thought I was going to get the big "D" for even thinking about buying this truck much less fixing it with my health issues.(she's still kinda pissed, but she'll get over it) All in all it's going to be a great truck, I drove it down the driveway and turned it around and it went into gear and stopped with no problems. At least the trans is good.

OK boys, got a little problem here. I got to get my scanner on this thing, but I had a y pipe leak and I though I should fix that first so I can chase down the bad injector. Loosened up the clamps and turbo and got out the old ratchet straps and popped that baby into place. Went to put on the down pipe and see this

Smells a little like diesel but I haven't heated it up yet(no coolant in it yet) this is the Millon Dollar question.....injector or leaking turbo seal. Don't be shy, chime right in I can take it.

Did you notice oil in the turbo outlet before reassembly?

Does it feel like it's missing?

Depending on the scanner you were going to use, it might not hurt to clamp it up and see what you've got before tearing out the turbo for another look.

Jack, to answer your questions, no I didn't, PO took it apart because he said it was blowing black smoke. It's been apart awhile,so all the oil was gone. It runs very smooth, all the vitals look good on my Livewire. I have no coolant in it as I'm waiting on a part that's broke and this was a temp set up so I didn't put it all together if ya know what I mean. I think it's turbo rebuild time, that's what I think. The oil that came out of it was terrible, thick and black like it hadn't been changed in a long time. The new oil is black already and it was run all of 5 min and a half qt low.......good thing I live back in the woods, then again the state bird is being a pain this season. (mosquitoes for you non jersey peeps) would be good fogger Oh, and I did a turbo clean on it too before it went back in,didn't notice a thing out of the norm

Yeah, your not someone who I would have thought would have missed prior oil in the turbo or downpipe before reassembly.
