Back in the day didn't rear seat dragster go yoke to yoke. I don't know about a conversion joint or how daily driver it would be. Just throwing it out there
I could do that but I doubt there's a joint for it. Plus then the t case would need to mount off the trans. If it's turkey divorced with its own crossmember you want a stub shaft with slip so when things push and pull as the frame moves you don't break or bind anything.
Idea. If I can get a yoke with the 31 spline on the tcase I can divorce it with the slip needed. I'll need to call mshar they do this all the time and would know if one exists
Got the flywheel on. Everything is torqued to spec. I got the throttle cable mounted on the engine. I'll detail that in the pics.
Also got all new filters. More filters. Flywheel on 1/2 inch dia fine thread bolts 1 1/2 long Modified the stock throttle bracket to mount to the dt one You can see what I cut off Bent the stock bracket some then swapped the spring holder to the other side. I also removed the small extension bracket and moved the throttle mount up to where you see it. Full throttle at the stops Idle You can see how the bracket is mounted. There's one bolt and the lip on the bracket holds it aligned.
Used the stock IDi mount with a little modifaction. The the vac pump mounts right up. So this works well. Over all shot. The pulley is a little coward but I will need to grind some off the bracket where it was cut still. Back side showing I used all the or mounting points and added one more on the left. The large top bolt goes through the upper stock mounting hole for the dt and the hole hidden by the vac pump bracket on the stock mount. What was cut off the stock bracket.
Broke out the redneck mill. Aka drill press and flattened the area where the bracket was cut then re assembled. Nothing else really today wish I got more done but the engine needs to go in soon and it needs to warm up for that.
Found my pilot bearing 85 bucks it's a roller bearing not a ball bearing but the specs match and it should work fine. Nkis30 is the part number. Turns out nobody runs a 2 inch input on a dt360. The 1.18 shaft and the 2.047 hole in the flywheel don't leave much room.
Well slight set back. Shipping company yrc put a hole in the oil pan. So that needs replaced they should cover the cost. Nearly 400 though is over half the shipping cost.
