The engine is fully mounted. Didn't go as well as planned but worked pretty good. I may add a spacer plate under the rear bushings as my plan was slightly off once everything was sitting in place.
Front mount Double pass on the bottom weld to tie it all together Backside of the front mount Oil pan clearance it's about 1/2 inch
The 4 inch down pipe will not fit. So I'll stick to the 3 inch that was on the engine. Clearance around the filters and frame will be tight but will work. The rest of the exhaust will clear fine the whole way back.
I'm thinking of going with the divorced 205 for a t case as I can offset it and get a 2 piece front shaft with a carrier mounted off the frame rail. Ill stick the married one in the psd when I swap the e4od out.
For the rear it will be about the size of a rc sb truck. So it will be ok still I hope. I can drop the case some too if needed.
The shifter will be close to the seat but I can bend it some if needed. A u shape should work well. I was also toying with a console like the new sd trucks with remote linkage. Its a bit backwards with first in the down position and a remote linkage would swap that to left and up. The catch is reverse would be down and left. However I don't think I'll use first too much as it's a 14-1 ratio
so there's the plan any input is welcome. Also did a video of the clutch install so I'll post that here for reference.
Well the plan is to have u joints be the weak spot.
Been looking at interior plans as that that will be next after the body is on. I like the 04 f150 wheel. Now to add a horn contact to the back hmmmm. Tonight is an idea night
Sorry don't kill me. I forgot the update last night. Started the crossmember the 7018 does not like humidity so I used some 6013 to get it together and will finish with 7018 to add a flexible weld
Also finished painting the top of the frame. Just have the underside to do then but that ain't bad. Other side Ran wiring and plumbing for fuel up the frame. Started the crossmember Othe shot It will have the same mustang strut rod bushings as a frame bushing for the trans and rear engine position. These will give a good bit of movement as the chassis flexes still. The eaton manual says to spring mount it but I do not like that idea with the ford frame flex a 8 inch spring may be needed this will maybe add some strength to the chassis. I think the skid plate will stay there for now.
Got the cab fully stripped down. Also got a lot of small things finished.
Crossmember done Another shot Rad support in place Other side. Still need the body lift but won't decide that till cab is on. Mocked up clutch master and resivoir Another shot. Should be ok on the hood clearance
Paint is here and will need some tape but can get that locally. I'm going to try to prime some of it before work but we'll see. I'm hoping to get the body work done before Sunday when my buddy will come paint.
I gotta clean lean all the underside of the hood and fenders still though. That's the big thing as most of it is scuff and shoot after that.
Ya gotta knock her up. Then she can play with the kid and not bug you. It works well for me. She gets a few hours a week with me but she's on board too cause the truck will be used in the wedding.
