So I looked under my truck yesterday to see how the Doug Thorley Headers Y pipe will attach and see transmission fluid on the front drive shaft. Going to tear it apart and see what is up. Hoping its a t-case seal or maybe extension housing seal.
Looked around a bunch the last couple days, thinking the fluiid came out the vent tube on top of the transmission and leaked downward. Fluid is still full and nice color. Have a couple gaskets on standby just in case though. Also had DrivelinesNW install new U-Joints and carrier bearing in the rear two piece shaft. Should have done that a long time ago, take off clunk is gone.
Need to get the front shaft done soon and install a newer radiator I picked up from Ford which includes the transmission cooler.
GruesomeJeans - what needs rebuilt on your front end?
The steering box needs replacing, a RedHead will go in. New bushings, new/used radius arms(thought about some long travel arms but I'm not sure), ball joints, suspension... plus the motor and trans need to come back out, motor needs a rebuild, hopefully the trans is still good. Transfer case needs a rebuild... I wanted to lift it when I do suspension, remove the body lift and a 3-4" lift might be it. Alternatively, a 1.5-2" lift and downsizing to 33" tires on the Turbines I got. I haven't decided yet.
Not to mention, my brake woes are done yet. I need to find a Ford hydroboost unit, the GM one I pulled originally doesn't work as well as of like. I also was told I had a leak at one rear brake. I didn't see any fluid loss but better to check and snag it before it gets bad. While the motor is out, cleaning the engine bay is a priority. New paint, wire clean up and so on.

Well rats had you said that about 2 months ago I knew where one was.
If I go out there again I can look and see if it's still there. Let me know
if you want me to look.

herro Washington folk. We need to get some activity in this bs thread! What has everyone been up to?
I'd like to be able to come to a meet sooner or later, I live in Vancouver and it seems like most of the active people are up north from me.
Anyway, I've just been working and I put my truck to work and towed 9k lbs of trailer the other day. I love my truck, engine, transmission all of it.
Perty sexy if I do say so myself
Been gone almost 3 months, Chile working on 36 new high pressure high volume pumps for a new water system that uses 2, 42" diameter pipes 180 kilometers from sea level to 10,000 feet at the 2nd or 3rd largest open pit mine in the world in the Atacama Desert, and now working on the natural gas liquidfacion compressor trains in Trinidad.
I'm so looking forward to getting home to my little beach.

Holy crap! That is so cool! Wow! Are you an engineer or?
Yeah I work for the manpower side of the meatball (GE). My specialty is heavy duty gas turbines but my background is any rotating or reciprocating equipment so i go all over. I have to go to Argentina later this year installing 2 units.
