I've often said that the only problem with a Cummins diesel is that they're only available in a Dodge pickup. Great engines surrounded by crappy trucks.
I pulled our mini excavator with the 2000 Dodge 2500 with a 5.9 gasser, that was an adventure. Good thing the speed limit was 35 because I'm not sure it would've gone much faster. Poor transmission.
My plow truck was a 99 Cummins, the transmission heated up so much in wet snow it was barely usable. Ran great though.

a 12v is going in my Excursion in the event that my V10 blows up, which may not happen for another 150K if I'm lucky.
Are you doing the mod yourselr or did you order something?
Just some Dremel work and already have the 9007->9008 adapters (see pic). Mod going on after Christmas. There is also a great Riff Raff Diesel walkthrough you can follow if you need some extra pointers and a more complete parts list if you want to put on new clips/screws/washers. Will be a fun adventure regardless!
For the LED strips I'm going to wire the ambers to be running lights and I'm going to wire the whites to come on with the dome lights so they light up the ground hopefully. Won't know how good it looks until I get it on though, this was just a spur of the moment purchase as my larger goal is the amber the damn thing out completely like some of those 18-wheelers you see rollin' down the freeway.
Different work being done today. Trying to fix both rear and front heat. Started in the rear since I can make more of a mess. Actuators look fine so I'm guessing right now that the issue is something annoying/more expensive to fix lol
Front and back have pretty much the same issue: Air blows, but its not hot. Front blows luke-warm like it is stuck on that temperature. The rear blows pretty much whatever is outside, so right now it blows freezing cold LOL.
Going to check for clogged coolant lines and make sure all the insulation isn't clogging up any movement. If not that I'll move on to figuring out if the cores or other components aren't working correctly.
The Ford Shop Manuals.
I Should have your year. If you want come on to the meet on the 18 and I'll make
sure to bring the laptop and the DVD. I can also make a copy for you.
