Went back up to Franklin's to discuss carburetors. I'm going from a cheap dual Solex setup to a nicer single Weber 2 barrel 40mm setup. My current carbs sound like a camping percolator for coffee. It gurgles and dumps fuel into the intake. We are thinking fuel pressure might be contributing. Bit these carbs are also very cheap. I worked a deal with Franklin to give him the dual kit I'm using now in exchange for the single kit with money on top to have him install and tune it. I really hope this works. At the very least, I'll have a better chance at tuning this thing myself. When I first figured the fuel economy, I hit about 18mpg. Average for city driving and not being nice to the throttle. Last I checked it was around 12mpg city. It should be much better. So next week the car goes under the mechanical knife for some "upgrades".

A side note related to Franklin's. Turns out he did have a shop near Champion arms in Kent. My brother informed me that his house was out in Graham but his shop had moved to Kent, then to the Central Ave shop where he is now.

I suppose. I don't know what was in the area there. I'm familiar with Torklift but only because the dealership I worked for would send them cars to have work done. When I was first searching for his shop I only saw that small auto dealer next door and was very confused at where Franklin's actually was. After seeing the shop, his showroom is pretty awesome.

And finally my Scangauge came to the rescue, last Wednesday I noticed a hesitation/rough low idle. Took a couple days of driving and the Scangauge threw a code. Fortunately I had an extra COP in the glove box. Will have to order a couple more now.

Sounds like a productive day! Tomorrow the bug gets dropped off at Franklin's again for carb replacement work. I'm hoping to come come with a great running car.

Well I finally outwitted the job board and got an app in with one of the
flight support centers at SeaTac.

Nothing like places that use the IEbloatware version of HTML that does not
play nice with others. I did not feel so bad the HR guy was having problems
with it also. So at least I am not alone in the row boat.

Just started on the application part.
Funny thing is when I talked to the guy in HR that I have so many times talked with I told
him that he should of just haired me at the first and we would not be where we are now looking
for someone. That got a chuckle out of him.

Hey Tim.

Good luck Sean. Been doing my new Excavation job for a couple weeks now. I got to drive the mini excavator Thursday too. Only thing I can't stand is the traffic.

No fireworks for me. I have to work that night. I've been riding a longboard to work recently, it's pretty good exercise but due to the possibility of fireworks being blown up on the bike trail, I'll probably drive that night.
