Going to check it out tonite with Rollie the neighbour, daughter has 3 cats so someone should be watching the house. if they are the're doing a **** poor job of it.
If you have a neighbor whom for the last 5-6 years you give your keys to when you go away for a week, don't do a week long dissappearance act.
Mark and Sue have been arguing for a while, last anyone was seen was 7 or so a.m. on thursday when Mark met someone at his van and drove off and he was pissed off, Rollie saw this from his front window and they've heard the arguing through the kitchen window. Rollie owns a roofing company and works full time and his wife works full time so no one is home during the day. What nobody knew was that Sue, her sister and kelly were going to Edmonton on a spur of the moment idea. Kelly brings a set of keys over to Greta so that she can feed cats, Greta is late 70's and has a handicapped son. Sue is supposed to be bringing me the keys to let me know whats going on as I'm the one who does the yard and house check and makes it look like someone is still there, she manages to forget this part as she is walking from the front door to the fence gate. They came home as Rollie was digging out his ladder so that we could look in the windows on the upper level. Why didn't I check with Greta you ask. Greta has a handicapped son that sits on the front deck, normally when Greta gets the keys to feed the cats he shouts out, "Mom feeds cats, Mom feeds cats" when he sees me checking the house, this time he says nothing. Greta has a tendancy not to remember people unless she sees them pretty much everyday. She has no idea how close she came to having a check on welfare 911 call.
Took the wife for breakfast this morning since she has the day off work. Sometimes I wonder about the guys that just sit for hours sipping coffee and reading the entire paper, and then I realize, I wouldn't know how long they were there if I wasn't doing the same thing. Well, expect I get bored of the paper pretty quick and I end up flipping through my phone usually.
Had a productive day, gantry is almost done. Greta is ok with the keys ***** as she doesn't give in to strangers and her son Bill is like a really big sheep dog. Mark showed up this afternoon, his driver, financer buddy thought they could get to hope and back on $100, made it as far as Cache Creek. Buying 6 packs of beer in every town along the way didn't help. He got tired of me laughing at him so I didn't find out how they got back.
Idiot was going to pan for gold on the Silver Hope, Used to hike it out myself as there are some nice short cliff climbs. I used to take a rock hammer with and look for black sand, if it was fresh I'd look for a dry spring water fall. Got a few heavy pieces of quartz, used it to score with single mothers, keeps the kids busy trying to get the gold out of it. Lots of crops out there come fall, especially in the Greenwood area, be careful though as its native land.
Get to raise the beam and finish the gantry tomorrow, everything is predrilled, fitted and ready to go, just have to set up the engine hoist in the truck box. Heppy heppy heppy, will add it to my thread tomorrow night and do a build up in the home made tools thread.
Its a 10x20 with a 10x10 attached to the side and opened up, theres a 7.5x7.5 insulated, drywalled and hardie board sided work/tool shed on the other side and a 5x14 parts shed at the entrance plus I have a 18' shade tree growing out of the roof. I raised the main roof 4' and the small roof 2' and theres a 4' walking deck thats full of large heavy tools and heavy parts, I pic it to show you how badly stuffed it is.
