Local junk yards . If im not mistaken El Paso Tx is the biggest car exporter for used cars to central America and South America thats why we end up with all the junk :- X03 competition is fierce between jk so prices are competetive
Well I had a chance to take the other head of the engine I have for a rebuild and dont look to good, even though at the time I did the compression they had good compression. Cylinder 5 & 7 pistons were badly banged something fell into the cylinders at one point still have cross hatches but cyl 7 has a cylinder scratched where I can feel it with my pinki nail we'll see if it can be bored or I need a new cyl sleve. Ill try to post some pics tomorrow it got dark.
Personally I would rather sleeve all 8 and run factory size pistons than to bore it at all. The reason being you have no way of knowing how much material you have between the cylinder wall and water jackets. Taking away material just means that you're at greater risk of cavitation in the water jackets getting through to a cylinder.

True, i will have to talk to my machinest to see how much it will come out to but in the end I think it will be a wiser choice to re sleve all cylinders. But like mentioned on my earlier post the cyl that had low compression was cyl 8, cylinders 5 and 7 had good compression despite of the damage they have but I know for a fact on cyl. 8 one of the valves was not sitting right
Another update on the Mule
Today i removed the44gal fuel tank out of one of the company trucks with a 6.0 wow this thing is clean and also full of diesel
Heres some pics of it and please let me know what looks different than our obs rear sending unit
If not I'll make it fit. lol im good at welding so ill cut, and fab as necessary. but from rough measurements i think it will even bolt up in the stock location but will see maybe this weekend ill remove the bed and start working on it
Sounds good, I love my 38 rear tank! I also have a useable 33 aux tank in the bed and a normal front tank. I can hold 90 gallons and when I tow heavy and only get 7mpg, that capacity comes in handy.

Sure does specially because next year (if God permits) Im planing on going to Niagra falls with my wife and 2 kids, ill be towing my old school Terry tt but will see
Today I got off work early and decided to try to install the fuel tank, but boy ill tell you what, this thing is huge i did not encounter on having much problem but some removal of the chassis brasses and should fit nice and snuggly. The cool thing is that the fuel lines and fuel level connector are a direct fit so no cutting or buying fuel lines. Heres some pics of the progress. Enjoy
I lifted the bed but was not going to work, so like any reasonable sane person i removed the bed
This brace has to be move foward 3"
The rear has is going to be tricky, im thinking either cut it and shape so the tank can be moved back or just make one from scratch and maybe even box the rear, i think my exhaust is not going to fit but will see when ever I put the front brace before removing the back one.
Will try to finish tomorrow if the weather is not to bad
