Nice looking truck and 5th wheel . I think I may have looked at that truck awhile back if you bought it in White Settlement ? I'm looking at getting a 2020 450 and just put money down on a 38' New Horizon . I love the color of your truck I have a 2016 f150 KR in that same color , I maybe going Red this time but may stick with the two tone .
We wanted a Ruby Red KR, but none were available. We bought this one at McDavid Ford in Fort Worth.
I'm basing my comment upon several (mismatched) bits of provided data.
In another post a shopper looking at F450s said its' cargo capacity maxed out at 4500 pounds; and that's BEFORE loading passengers, a fifth wheel hitch, and all cargo.
A fifth wheel (for proper tracking) needs a minimum of 20% of its actual weight on the pin.
You stated its gross weight as 24K. 20% of that is 4800 pounds - and that's if its properly loaded on the pin (again before any passengers, hitch or cargo) are loaded on the truck.
Now you claim its measured pin weight is 4500 pounds.
Doing some reverse math says your trailer, if properly loaded at 20%, would have a gross weight of 22,500 - but again that's BEFORE allowing for passengers, hitch, or any other cargo.
OR, if it is 24K pounds with a pin weight of 4500# then it is under-loaded at 18.75%.
While I suspect your F450 will easily pull the Mobile Suites it likely is overloaded.
And yes, I'm envious.
I may be a bit overloaded, but the F450 is a massive truck. It almost seems to be twice the vehicle the Ram 3500 was. It isn't, of course, but still with the wide track front end, it feels much more substantial. The 24,000 and 4500 comes from weighing the MS with the Ram. I have not yet weighed the MS with the 450. We did move some things around in the trailer and removed quite a bit. I need to get it weighed again though.
I said all that to say that I absolutely love my F450 I and fore see having it as my tow vehicle for many more years. My three favorite features thus far are the massaging seats, the adaptive cruise control, and the 48 gallon fuel tank. We towed 429 miles yesterday from Grand Prairie, TX to Springfield, MO and got 9.7 mpg, hand calculated. Today we went 325 miles from Springfield, MO to Springfield, IL and got 9.1 mpg. I had forgotten how many hills there are in MO. ha. Tomorrow will be a short tow to Crescent City, IL of 140 miles or so. This is a great tow vehicle and extremely smooth with the MS in tow. I almost always tow at 65 mph or less.
Here is a pic of our 2015 F450 Platinum towing our 2017 Heartland Landmark Charleston. This picture was taken at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds at the 2019 Heartland International Rally.

2015 F-350 DRW LB CC 6.7L PSD........ 2016 41+ ft Montana 3790RD....... 1 1/2 yrs ago I put a higher capacity suspension under it (8K alles and springs) and Disc Brakes....... Great improvement in towing and stopping......
Definitely some nice rigs posted since the last time I've been on here. We sold our 2017 F350 Lariat and 2017 Raptor
and swapped to a 38' Diesel pusher. After about 11 months we knew that we made a mistake, not because we were having trouble with the MH, because we lost so much room compared to our toy hauler. Having small kids and a MH just didnt work for us. So we were able to find a buyer for our MH, then turned around a bought a 2019 Momentum 399TH and a2019 F350. We are very pleased with both and happy to have our room back.
